"No visitors lounge accept a small area in the dining room this was poor. No information in your room to where facilities are. To small car park, our booking included free parking but no parking was available on one occasion."

BUT: big disadvantage: breafast is not served until 8.30am, far too late for energetic holidaymakers and busy people staying in the area. When I complained of this in a review the management said that they could have made me a sandwich the night before, but this rather inferior service was not offered at the time."

"A fantastic rustic building set amongst some very picturesque settings with well kept grounds and straight off a main road close to the village of Chard. I was checked in by welcoming and friendly staff who showed me to my room. A nicely decorated room included hot chocolate which was a bonus (most accommodation only off tea and coffee). The bathroom was nice and clean although the shower could have done with better water pressure. I took an hour long walk along the nearby country lanes and took in some lovely scenic views. There were some dining options in and around Chard as well as the Hotel itself. The bed was really comfy and provided a full night's sleep which can be hard to attain when on the road. Breakfast was fantastic with both cooked and cold options and everything was cooked to perfection. I will be sure to look at staying here again given the opportunity."
