Great hotel , not easily accessible
The hotel is fantastic. The rooms, the decor the service. It is everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. I have no complaints whatsoever. The location on the other hand was a little tough to work with. The hotel offers a shuttle service every hour to and from a subway station called Barberini. The shuttle takes about 25-30 mins to reach the destination. Last shuttle as at 9 and first shuttle is at 9:30. If you wanted to basically just roam around Rome and not be restricted by shuttle and just want to head back to the room to chill or relax for a bit then head back out. This hotel is not in a suitable location for you to do so. We tried various ways to get around. Took a cab from the hotel to the nearest subway station "Cipro" for just under 7 euros then took the subway around. We also walked the 20 minutes from Cipro to the hotel. We also took the 913 bus that dropped us off about 8 mins away to the hotel by walking. Basically, Rome is tiring on its own and there's a lot of walking to do. Having to worry about that 30-45min ride back to the hotel was daunting. Also, there isn't much around the hotel either in terms of grabbing a meal. We went to a great restaurant called Foodoo. But we had to wait for a couple of hours as the kitchen opened at 1900 and we got there after we arrived/checked in at about 1700. The downtown core has restaurants that don't close for this lunchtime hours; which is more convenient for tourists.
