"Handily-located with its own co-located car park, the hotel was a perfect place to stay for a midweek visit to the city. The hotel has evidently had a modern interior makeover at some point and features interesting contemporary décor throughout. Our comfortable twin room had everything we needed for a short stay and at a decent price. Whilst English staples are available, the in-house restaurant majors on Indian cuisine and our butter chicken was delicious. Car parking for guests is £19 for 24 hours at time of writing and this was a very handy amenity as it allowed us to leave the car safely stashed away after checking out whilst we visited the University during the day. Friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere helped make this a great stay. "

"Disappointed that the spa was only available to guests between 8am - 10am and from 7pm-9pm. Other times was a charge of £70ppp day. The hotel is lovely but a couple of notes: floor tiles all cracked in our bathroom and the bathroom layout meant access to the shower over the bath was a negotiation and would have been tricky if you weren’t fully mobile. In general, great location but at the price I’m left a little disappointed. "

"I have stayed at this hotel on numerous occasions over the last year and found it to be very comfortable, peaceful, scenic, with lovely staff and good food and also a conveniently close distance to the M4. Generally the accommodation is of a high standard of cleanliness and comfort. I was disappointed on my last visit however, to find that my booked suite had been 'upgraded'. The upgrade was underwhelming, being a single room with a balcony overlooking the lake. Whilst the room was adequate and view nice, this wasn't really an 'upgrade' compared to the suite (which are very well appointed and comfortable) also the balcony appeared to be in some state of disrepair and a bit rickety. I made a complaint on check out that I didn't feel the upgrade was value for money compared to the suite but sadly this does not appear to have been followed up on as I have heard nothing back which is very disappointing."

"The staff really made this stay special… particularly the restaurant staff. We arrived and had no trouble parking - I think if busier it could be an issue. The check in was smooth and the receptionist were really helpful. The room was lovely - the hotel and the grounds are stunning. Food was exceptional as was the service. Will definitely look to stay again! "
