This was a great stay. Close to everything you would want to visit. It was quiet and tranquil. Breakfast was great and the hospitality was “sweet”. Accommodations were exactly as advertised. We would stay there again!

The room was very pleasant and comfortable. HOWEVER offering breakfast that doesn’t start until 8 AM in my opinion is preposterous. We stopped here for a night on a long trip and could not wait around until 8. Might as well not offer it at all.

We always offer a cold breakfast to include yogurt, fruit, pastries, and other items served in our common room before breakfast hours with prior coordination. Best place in Rapid City
My wife and I have been staying here for almost 20 years now for both business and vacations. We have always found it to be clean, quiet and pleasant. It can not be beat compared to typical motels as it provides free breakfasts that are cooked rather than motel junk foods, you can go next door for dinner and drinks. It is easy to access downtown Rapid and all the typical tourist attractions in the Hills. And the owners are very pleasant and helpful.

Gracious owner/magager. Perfect B& B.
This is a perfect haven right off Mt Rushmore Rd. Room is nicely decorated, spacious bathroom with jacuzzi tub. Breakfasts are hand crafted and served in the on-site restaurant. Staying here you avoid the downtown area and are actually closer to Mt Rushmore. ( Downtown only 10 minutes anyway. ) We ate at the restaurant on the patio, live music, just a beautiful little spot.

Updates needed but pleasant stay
Building, carpet and decor is in definite need of an upgrade/update, and several dead bugs in the room. However, the owners are warm and welcoming. The breakfast was really good and ready for us with the time we picked, and table set up for us with beverages already set out. Overall a pleasant stay.

We typically do a walk through the morning prior to arrival to catch such things so I am not sure how we missed that. Once again, great feedback. I really liked the property, the staff was very freindly, and parking for my car and trailer was easy. I only stayed 1 night, but I would recommend it to anyone staying in the area.

pleasant stay in black hills
Very comfortable, friendly. Facilities need some maintenance but was recently purchased so anticipate will improve. Enjoyed our stay & would recommend it.

Location, location, location
Our stay with Eric and Nancy at Sweetgrass was really nice. The location is perfect for going to see Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse monument, not to mention the small towns leading to those places. The on site restaurant and bar is perfect if you don’t want to go into Rapid City, although the city isn’t far. The rooms are spacious and every employee is helpful and friendly. Of course, the all important wi-fi is free. Each room has its own A/C and heat. There’s plenty of storage space for stuff. Breakfast is from the menu and quite good.

Great B & B. Wonderful people.
Hospitality was great. Owners were great and super friendly. Staff was also wonderful. Room was clean, large and bed was very comfortable. On site restaurant was good and breakfasts were very good. We were there three nights and enjoyed it so much. Highly recommend. If there was any issue, it was addressed immediately. Loved it.

Sweetgrass Inn is a gem of a place situated in the perfect location within the Black Hills of South Dakota. There’s a wonderful restaurant on-site with complimentary breakfast. Erich and his wife were extremely kind and accommodating. We didn’t get to see everything in the area, so we will definitely be back and will choose this place to stay. We loved it!

We arrived at 11:30pm and needed a good night sleep. We were delighted with the spacious room and very comfortable bed. Breakfast in the morning was sufficient and included eggs and sausage. Overall a great place to stay.

Great place to stay!
Lovely bed and breakfast! The rooms are spacious and clean. Huge bathrooms as well with hot tub style baths. Very comfortable! Breakfast was great and ready right on time. There is also a restaurant on site with a bar. There was live music the night we visited, and we had a blast!

I would like to give this inn a higher rating. I cant for 2 issues. First, the pull-out bed in the family room has an extremely uncomfortable mattress. You can feel every coil and support bar. Second, there was a surprise $50 charge on our account. I found out that in addition to paying more for a family room, the rate they quoted is for 2 people, and each extra person was an additional $25/day. The owner promised to take off the charge saying Expedia put on the charge, not him. When I contacted Expedia, they put me on hold and called him. He denied knowing anything about the issue, even though I talked with him 1 hour before. I truly don't understand why he would do this over $50. It makes him look dishonest.

Great place. The owner spent some time with us and provided excellent tips on the local places. A custom to order full breakfast is also provided in conjunction with the restaurant on site.
