This hotel is right in the heart of Athens so has all the benefits of close proximity to shops, sights, transport and amenities. I would do describe the location as colourful being opposite the fruit market, the staff were extremely helpful not only with hotel things but advice on places to go and excursions.

A great hotel to stay in, very centrally located. We found several great restaurants within a 10 minute walk, and sites like the Acropolis were only a 20-30 minute walk away. Good breakfast and large room. We had a view of the Acropolis from our room on the 7th floor!
Tired hotel with bathroom needing a complete refurb and air conditioning was fairly inefficient.
Great roof top though with a bar and a small pool which was refreshing after a hot day visiting.
Overall - decent hotel
I was nearly convinced to give up this hotel by the negatives about comfort and neighborhood. Both are actually OK (Omonia is now a much better quarter than it used to be). I am very glad I stayed there my 2 nights in Athens. No security problems, never felt unsafe day or night. Staff is lovely, helpful and precise.

the walk from the metro to the hotel is short. the hotel is situated close to many sights, dining choices, and their is a bus stop right outside hotel. There were 2 other hotels on same block both of which were 4 star so they put the expensive right next to inexpensive which shows you the location is just as good. We were on first floor in room 14 and we had wifi service, we had hot and cold running water and a/c and a balcony. Those are the pluses, the minuses, bed was horrible to sleep on springs cutting into our backs, pillows flat and frame squeaked everytime you moved. noise from street very bad until around 2 am remote for t.v. did not work, a/c remote did not work their were cockroaches and small bugs and hotel staff not friendly. As stated it was 2 star so could not and did not complain. Would try to pick different one next time now that we know area.
Once an area of leather tanning workshops, Psirri was transformed a few years back to make it Athens’ prime nightspot. Packed with an ever-growing range of bars, tavernas, and dance clubs, it offers mainstream entertainment. Several Latin and Oriental-themed bars add the spice. Psirri lives after dark, though the nearby Central Market is worth a look in by day.
