Relaxing accommodation, great location.
5 / 5 Excellent
We have just had a great holiday at Owl's Nest and we'd highly recommend it for families.
All the pre-arrival stuff was excellent - Carole, the owner, sent all the information we needed and was very organised. It was great communication on the latest COVID rules at the park, the questions we asked were answered promptly and it was very simple.
When we arrived, the caravan was clean, tidy and well stocked. There was a lovely 'welcome basket' waiting for us with sweets for the kids, some Welsh cakes, milk in the fridge. The caravan has more than just the essentials - there wasn't anything we needed. There was tea, coffee, sugar, a cafetiere (essential!), plenty of good quality crockery, cooking equipment. Everything feels good quality and new.
The Wi-Fi (included with the caravan) was excellent, which was vital as there is no phone reception, so useful for WhatsApp, etc. There is also a load of board games for children/families as well as colouring, pens, etc. The lounge / diner / kitchen was spacious, the twin room small, but fine for kids and the main bedroom very spacious. There's plenty of storage for clothes, etc.
The park itself is also excellent - quite small, with mainly privately owned caravans. The staff are very friendly and helpful, there is reasonable quality food from the bar / takeaway, the 'entertainment' for the kids is a little dated - the DJ likes to play music from his era rather than the stuff the kids know, but for free. it was all ok. The pool is great, large, warm, hot tubs, well managed with the booking system.
The beach is AMAZING - huge, close to walk, great café with delicious ice cream, toilets. The sea is shallow and safe, with RNLI on duty.
Being picky, these were the only areas of improvement we could mention - we had some problems with the lock and we think the owner should get it replaced. Also, there's nowhere to store suitcases, we ended up putting them back in the car, so they didn't clutter. Very minor, just mentioning.
We'd highly recommend the caravan, the owners, the park and the location.
