    Roberta takes care of this property very well, providing everything you need for a short stay. It is well located just on the edge of the limited traffic area. There is a road that runs past the property but it doesn't carry much traffic and is pretty quiet at night. The closest route using Via Sant'Agata up to the main square (Piazza Mercato) is a steep but interesting climb. One can avoid the climb by using the moving walkway (scala mobile) to get all the way up to the top or part way. The closest entry to the walkway is located on one side of the Teatro Nuovo. It is worth travelling via the walkway at least once just to be impressed by what can be done by clever engineers. We frequented the welcoming little bar/tobacco shop (Il Borgaccio) 10 steps away for its great coffee and delicious pastries in the morning. The Tigre supermarket is excellent with a wide range of food. It is 10 mins walk away on Viale Martiri della Resistenza. …

    My wife and I had a very pleasant stay in Spoleto at Terrazza Carinissima. Laurie picked us up and dropped us off at the train station which was very much appreciated with our heavy luggage. The apartment was spotless. It is on two levels with the larger bedroom on the upper level. There is a small balcony off the upper bedroom and a larger balcony with seating and a small table off the kitchen on the main floor. The appliances seemed new and worked well. The weather during our stay was mild so we didn't need the heating or air conditioning. The apartment is on the third floor of a small building so if you have mobility issues this is not the place for you. The other units in the building were unoccupied so there was no noise from them. You will hear people talking on the streets below but it's pleasant conversation; people enjoying each other's company and it was quiet later in the evening. Norma has a very good guide to Spoleto in the apartment with her personal restaurant recommendations and other useful information. The internet connection was slower on the lower level (200-400 Kbps) but it was fine on the upper level. For a couple or a small family this apartment would make a great vacation stay. Simple additions like an electric coffee maker and ice trays for the frig would b a nice addition. The distance from the parking garage was much further away than anticipated. Spoleto was a delightful city- easy to navigate tho very ‘vertically challenging’- lots of great restaurants and friendly people.…
