"This place blew us away! It’s secluded, but they have most things you’d need right there. Extremely friendly and responsive staff. Their shuttle service to and from the airport really took the stress off from wondering about transportation arrangements.
I was in a rush when booking this place, so I didn’t read through most of the descriptions. We were so pleasantly shocked at how much there was to do there. The museum, the lagoon tour, and pool area were all we had time for, since our personal schedule was tight, and I can rave enough about them. Waking up to the sound of howler monkeys echoing through the trees was terrifying at first because we didn’t know about them, but we laugh about it now and appreciate the experience.
We had the best servers too. Alex!! Alex was the cherry on top to our stay. He took great care of us and even remembered our food preferences from the night before. When we ordered room service on our last night, he delivered the order with all the personal touches (and we didn’t mention it that time). Thank you so much Alex!
My only regret was not staying longer."
"The main reason to stay at this hotel is its location. You are essentially staying inside the park, and the convenience of being just minutes from the entrance is hard to beat.
Unfortunately, the location is where most of the positives end. The biggest issue during my stay was the lack of air conditioning. The rooms become extremely hot, especially at night. Mine felt more like a sauna than a hotel room, and I barely slept because the heat was so overwhelming. Considering the price of the rooms, I found this difficult to justify. The hotel also lacks basic amenities. There are no refrigerators in the rooms, so there is no way to keep water or other drinks cold. What made this even more frustrating is that guests are charged for ice. When paying premium rates, charging extra for something so basic feels unnecessary. The hotel charges $21 per person, each way, for shuttle service to and from Flores. The restaurant was also disappointing. The food was expensive and did not justify the prices. Fortunately, there is a much better option just outside the hotel grounds. A short walk brings you to Comedor Imperio Maya, a small local restaurant serving authentic food at reasonable prices. Some guests may be lack of Wi-Fi and televisions in the rooms. Personally, I did not view that as a major issue. Bring a good book and enjoy the surroundings. Overall, you are paying almost entirely for the location. Just be prepared for hot rooms, extra fees, limited amenities, and no options."
"I enjoyed my stay. The staff is great! Food was good. The pool was clean and well maintained. For me the only down side is, they have no hot water. For some this won't be an inconvenience. So, I say I didi like it."
"Excellent location to access Tikal. Pool was amazing! We swam in the rain. The bungalows are incredible. We appreciated having power at night to charge phones, even though the main building turns off their generator. The food is great, staff was kind and patient with our limited Spanish. Netting around the beds was a must for night time, worked well and kept the gnats out. Overall excellent experience and highly recommend staying here to explore Tikal. "
