"we had a suite room and it was beautiful with amazing views, the only thing to let it down was the pillows they was so big and hard we didn't sleep, spa was nice we did the mud treatment and that was very fun, it is very dated and needs some new paint work in the spa but apart from that is was lovely. Parking is extremely limited but the West End Road car park is only a short walk away and both reasonable cost and easy to pay via the MiPermit app (which will give you a Vat receipt afterwards). The buffet style breakfast was good and the hotel was very clean and the staff helpful."

"Quirky and incredibly well designed hotel! It can’t be easy remodeling a +500 year old hotel. Location was perfect! Downtown Colchester, walkable to shops and restaurants. Modern amenities, fabulous decor, great location and incredible customer service! I really enjoyed staying in the historic hotel."
