"We have just returned home after a 2 week stay at Milford House which we highly recommend. The house is clean, spacious and comfortable and everything we could have possibly needed was provided, including a washing machine, tumble dryer and dishwasher. The house is in a convenient location, only a minute or two's walk from the centre of the village. A particular highlight was the bedroom in the roof and the sounds of the sheep and cows in the fields nearby! We enjoyed staying in Tideswell...
"Breakfast was fantastic - fresh fruit and lovely cooked breakfast. Staff were lovely. On the downside - the mattress was so soft it sunk straight down to the divan below; also the bathroom needed a dust and clean (skirtings/doors etc)"
"Staff were excellent, food was good, beds comfortable. there was a smell from the cesspit that lingered all weekend, and the Pool could have been cleaner. Overall very nice stay"
"Average stay, tv not receiving signal, boiler broke down, although owner came out to fix within a few hours. Very poor welcome pack (small bottle of milk). No logs or kindling for log burner. View from back of cottage spoilt by messy and junk strewn garden. Nice location with good pubs in village that did good food, just check what days they open."
"Amazing room - immaculately clean, huge and luxurious.
The staff are friendly, welcoming and really efficient .
The food is lovely. Would definitely stay again "
"Comfortable bed, clean room, and wonderful service. This gorgeous little hotel had everything I needed and most importantly dedicated staff who made my stay comfortable and welcoming. "
"Sub-Standard service from Expedia and Sykes Cottages.
Our booking got cancelled as the cottage had ‘last minute maintenance’. The booking was for the 2-7th July 2025 and despite a huge amount of emails, phone calls and WhatsApp messages - it’s now the 12th July and we have still not received a refund.

"I've stayed here 2 years running and found it ideal. Clean, comfortable and stylish. Breakfast is cereal, crackers and milk in the fridge. Theres a pub next door which does full English breakfasts if you book the previous evening. "

"This was our second stay at Butterfield Cottage - two wonderful weeks at this cosy, comfortable, immaculate cottage. The owner, Jan, was so kind, accommodating and quick to respond allowing us early check in after an overnight flight and late check out as well. The cottage has everything you could ask for - comfortable beds, two bathrooms, well appointed kitchen and cosy living and dining space. The weather was outstanding so we made great use of the front terrace as well as the rear garden. There are great places to visit within short distances (Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall, Peak Caverns to name a few). Tideswell has wonderful pubs and there was a fun food festival while we were there. We also took greak hikes including Mam Tor.We highly recommend Butterfield Cottage to anyone looking for a clean, comfortable, beautiful place to explore the Peak District. Th"
"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rope Makers Croft. The croft is a short walk from Litton, where you'll find an excellent community-run shop and the superb Red Lion. The croft itself was perfect for us - there was plenty of space for two whilst still being cosy and warm (it was a chilly weekend!). The kitchen area is well equipped, the living area was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water for the rainforest shower. All in all superb. We are already looking at making a return booking."

"Our stay at TOTS was perfect. Everything is fresh, clean and charming! Julie has thought of everything you might need, I’ve never stayed at a better equipped rental! We had our 4 month old grandson with us and there was everything we could need for him too. There were breakfast goodies and amazing coffee. The location is great for walking and exploring. Great restaurants within walking distance. Tideswell is just lovely!"
