"Fantastic place to stay, unwind and be at one with nature! Not quite in the middle of nowhere but close enough. There are shops locally but we took what we needed for our stay so we could get away from everything. We ditched the car and walked everywhere. The forest is on your doorstep and a nature reserve just over the road.. Ideal place if you have dogs, enjoy walking and want to get away from daily life, just be aware of the hills. "We loved this place as soon as we set our eyes on it, both from the outside and the inside. Plenty of space in all rooms and everything else that you'd need, from wood to make a fire to a few biscuits and tea. Spotlessly clean and tidy. Lovely grounds too. Not too far from the hills for walking or visiting nearby villages and towns. Plenty of local walks too. The pub up the road, The Butchers Arms serves excellent food as well as drinks. All in all, an excellent place to stay. Thank you. "

"Just back from a wonderful weekend at Forest Cottage. Lovely quaint cottage in a secluded spot. We stay all over UK in these type of properties and this one is far superior, in our opinion, than many others we have stayed. The Hosts are friendly and accommodating, nothing too much trouble and not intrusive (live in detached house next door but not so close). "The property owners were great and made sure our arrival was welcoming with great info and welcome pack. The property is a unique original cottage with hone comforts and incredible view. There are some great walks and lots of activities nearby and a visit to ye older ferrie inn is a must. As with anywhere in this area to get the most you have to prepared to be a bit active and there are a few steps required to get down to the cottage but definitely worthwhile. "Our second stay here and excellent once again especially as the owners kindly accepted a change of plans due to one of our dogs requiring medical care. The house is clean, warm, tidy and well thought out. Parking is plentiful and easy. Access to the forest is literally across the road directly onto a path that has not changed in the 50 years I’ve been walking it. Beautiful location completely spoilt by the classic/abandoned cars in the front garden making it unsafe for children and dogs. Field next door is similarly blighted. "The cottage was very comfy and very clean. Debs was lovely and made such a fuss of our puppy. The pub was welcoming and again everyone made our puppy feel welcome which we were worried about. "

"Couldn't fault the property at all. New experience for us after the passing of my wife and family Christmas's for over 30 years. The owners have really put a lot of effort into making the property a really lovely experience. Their attention to detail with added extras for guests and their dogs was exceptional. "Location was different to what's on the map (it's right next door to the New County Hotel). The apartment was lovely though, looks like it's been recently refurbished and was very clean and comfortable. Kitchen was very well equipped with dishwasher and washing machine. £250 damage deposit seemed quite excessive. Not sure if they get a lot of trouble as housekeeping also came in during stay but didn't do any cleaning, make beds, or fold towels etc (I only knew they'd been because they folded...

"Large roomy well equiped apartment with separate bedroom ( but not with a closing door ),fantastic shower, we had room 9 which was downstairs and had beautiful bay windows with a lovely hillside view , easy onsite parking , loved the dishwasher but missed having a washing machine and oven, initially we were a little disappointed with the cleanliness ( fluff and balls and dust in corners of the bathroom and dropped food under dining table ) a quick clean and all was good "
