About this property

From the Baron and Baroness: a charming art house with a terrace

  • Immerse yourself in the timeless elegance of an authentic historic Art Nouveau building from the late 1800s, in the heart of Palermo, just a short walk from the Teatro Massimo and the city’s pedestrian areas. This large, exclusive apartment—once the home of Baron and Baroness Sarzana—served as the studio of the painter Baroness Anna Maria Brucato Sarzana, whose original works still adorn the walls, creating an atmosphere of rare beauty, charm, and allure that will allow you to enjoy a truly unique holiday. The apartment is furnished with antique furniture, paintings, rugs, and decorative items, both in the living rooms and in the bedrooms. On display are several unique examples of Sicilian craftsmanship, such as an extremely rare 19th-century gilded bronze cradle, tortoiseshell reliquaries, antique paintings, historic chandeliers, Alborelli, and much more. This historic residence features a large 100-square-meter living room with two balconies, an entryway, a study, a hallway, a master bedroom, and a bedroom with two single beds—both furnished with antiques and original hand-crafted brass headboards. All beds are equipped with new orthopedic mattresses and pillows of varying thicknesses. There are two bathrooms, one of which features a large shower. The kitchen, completely renovated, is fully equipped with all appliances, including a dishwasher. A washing machine is also provided. The apartment features a rear terrace overlooking the inner courtyards of the historic buildings in the area—a quiet corner where you can spend your days relaxing right in the heart of Palermo. Some areas of the apartment—specifically one bedroom and the mezzanine (the painter’s studio)—are not accessible to guests.
The area is central and residential, located among the city’s main monuments and shopping streets, with many businesses, shops, and restaurants in the area.
