"Good hotel whose dated appearance masks the facilities and staff helpfulness. Our room (18) was spacious and well equipped. My only complaint was no table at "my" side of the bed yet had the single and double been moved to the left one could have fitted. It makes a nice change to order the cooked breakfast and have it brought to our table."

"Arrival information was clear and check-in was straightforward. Breakfast was provided and was served to order. Has to be ordered the night before via WhatsApp Message. Room was comfortable for our family of four and our dog. We were down for a long weekend break and with being so close to the beach, we had a great stay. Lots to do in walking distance but a few hills around the area. Owners were very pleasant and very approachable should you need anything. We did not require any additional items, but felt we could have easily asked if we did. During our stay we had no issues and at the end it was a straightforward check out process. Our only minor thought is parking. There is 3 parking spaces at the front, but all other spaces are on street parking which was quite busy throughout the weekend. There are other hotels, B&Bs and guest houses along the road with similar parking situations. Fortunately we managed to park on the drive most of the time though. Overall we had a nice stay and will probably stay again."

"Directly across the road from Exeter Central Station. Very friendly staff. A floor-standing fan in the room that was very welcome. A good selection of hot & cold food at the buffet breakfast. Luggage storage before and after check-in/out."

"Absolutely superb ! Like stepping on board the titanic! Fantastic decor. Staff! efficient polite very clean and tidy. Beautiful building inside. Outside building needs some renovation but ok . Huge spacious rooms with everything you need maybe a fridge be useful particularly when hot weather. But all things considered very good. Price very good for July no issues with that . Staff friendly and helpful. Don’t believe all reviews! Some people are too quick to pull a business down. For this hotel comments were about thread bear and tiered! Maybe a bit , but I love that used patina and for a building of its age it’s just character and a fabulous example of a standard from a bygone age . Thank goodness some people keep these hotels alive and kicking. 🙏"

"I loved my stay at Torbay Guest house. It is located on a quiet road within a few minutes walk to the beach. The breakfast was amazing and freshly-prepared. James was an amazing host, very friendly and attentive. Near the train station or bus stop. James gave me great recommendations for local places to visit.i walked to Brixham from the guesthouse . The path to there was stunning and alongside the coast. Amazing views and calm. I would definitely look to come and stay here again if I am ever back in the area. Thanks so much!"
