"I booked a 5 night break at the end of November. A few days before arrival I received a phone call advising me of a special offer to have dinner at the hotel for £15 a night rather than £25 for the 5 course Table D’hote, which I took up, effectively making my stay half board. On arrival I was told that as I was half board I could use the pool/gym/sauna facilities free (effectively saving me the £5 per night charge!). The staff are lovely, nothing is too much trouble. The evening meal was really very good, the menu changed every night and was really good value. The breakfast menu was also varied, not just “full English” which was very welcome There was entertainment in the hotel which was also enjoyable. I used the pool every day and also the sauna/steam room a few times. The hotel is clean & comfortable, there are many original features in the public areas and later additions are sympathetic to the original Victorian architecture. I enjoyed my stay very much and I am looking to return some time in 2022."
