"We found the hotel to be very well run with friendly and caring staff. Our room was large and well appointed. The breakfast buffet and other meals were excellent. The hotel is in a beautiful, tranquil rural setting but in easy reach of Figueres, Girona and the coast. "

"We had a wondeful 3- night-stay in this amazing authentic Catalan house. We loved how all the details in the house represent traditions and history. Marta and Viktor were amazing making sure we had all we needed. Figueres is a 25 minute drive and other sights are also a short driving from the house. We absolutely recommend staying here and hopefully we will return one day."

We visited for a triathlon so the area was very busy. There is a free car park available which was full at times. It was also exceptionally hot. The air conditioning was very effective. The rooms were clean and reasonably well equipped. There was very little storage. The bed was comfortable. It was a 15 minute walk to the supermarket and the old town. The hotel does not allow bicycles in the rooms but there is an excellent, secure bicycle room with a selection of tools available. We were...

Spacious and cool apartment in a small complex. The kitchen is small but has two cooker rings, a fridge, kettle and microwave. There is an oven in the shared section together with a washing machine, dryer and big freezer. The on-site restaurant is good, set meals only and only open for dinner at the weekend when we were there. Breakfast available every day if pre-booked.
A nice pool that was popular with families.
A 10 min drive into Banyoles for main shops.
Overall, a good value place for a...

Very helpful staff, luggage stored pre-check in helped, and after check-out, allowing more time to explore. Well situated for visiting the town. Hope to return.

Our 8th stay at this spa hotel. It gets better everytime we go. They have taken our previous comments on board and we now have coffee and yes in the room. Great. Can't beat it we are back there next month.

Lovely! Would stay again despite that it is doesn’t offer the usual services you expect from a full hotel. I guess this is simply down to cost paring. They must have got a huge architect bill to build this and which went well over budget and they are cutting services to save cash. Not great for guests.

The staff were friendly and attentive, nothing was tok much trouble. You could relax at the hotel, the honesty bar was great and the pool area was a nice place to chill out. Its also only a short walk into the city, alternatively there are buses running every 15 minutes. An added bonus is that the hotel is right by a hospital, so even the most accident prone people are catered for.

Hotel Ronda is a very nice Hotel. I was made to feel welcome the moment I walked through the door. The staff are all very friendly, and very efficient, and can speak English. The Hotel always looked very clean. The location is a short walk into town, straight down one pedestrian friendly road. The breakfast is a help your self cold buffet, plenty of ham, cheese, melon, bread, cereal etc. I ate in the restaurant one evening, the food was very nice and reasonably priced, and there was a very good...

El Porxo is a beautiful home/bed and breakfast in a quiet neighbourhood about 20 mins walk (5 mins bus or drive) outside the city centre. The neighbourhood has good restaurants and shops. Hosts are wonderfully welcoming and the breakfast is incredible.

The best area to stay in Ossinyà is within the village centre itself, as it offers the most convenient access to local amenities and the region's natural beauty.
Ossinyà is a small, traditional Catalan village located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, characterised by its stone houses, narrow winding streets, and a quiet, relaxed pace of life. The village is small enough to explore on foot, with the main church, Sant Julià i Santa Basilissa, often serving as a central point of reference. You'll find a few local eateries and a village shop dotted around the main square and surrounding lanes.
For couples seeking a tranquil escape, staying in the village centre is ideal. You'll appreciate the calm surroundings, the opportunity for leisurely walks through the countryside directly from your doorstep, and the chance to experience authentic village life. Many properties here offer stunning views of the surrounding valleys and mountains, great for enjoying a quiet morning coffee or an evening drink.
Families will also find the village centre a good base. The lack of heavy traffic makes it pleasant for children to explore, and there are numerous walking trails suitable for all ages radiating out from the village, including paths leading to the nearby Fluvià river.
When is the best time to go to Ossinyà?
The best time to go to Ossinyà is during spring (April to June) and autumn (September to October) for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.
Spring brings mild temperatures, typically ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for outdoor activities like hiking and exploring the countryside. The landscape is lush and green, and the region's wildflowers are in bloom. This period is particularly good for couples looking for a romantic escape, as the gentle weather allows for leisurely strolls through vineyards and picturesque villages without the intense heat of summer.
Autumn also offers comfortable temperatures, usually between 18°C and 28°C, and the vineyards are often at their most beautiful as the leaves change colour. This season is superb for food and wine enthusiasts, as it coincides with the grape harvest and various local festivals celebrating regional produce. You'll find plenty of opportunities to sample local wines and cuisine in a relaxed setting.
While summer (July and August) is hot, with temperatures often exceeding 30°C, it's a popular time for those who enjoy swimming and sunbathing at nearby beaches, which are a short drive away. However, it's also the busiest and most expensive season, with more tourists.
