When to Book Flights to Girona

Although winters are cool in Girona, they’re surprisingly dry so, as long as you take a jumper and a jacket, exploring the city’s attractions should be easy. Even in the depths of January temperatures rarely fall below freezing. And with cheap flights to Girona readily available, this could be the perfect time to visit if you’re looking for a budget break.

Summer is the peak season in the city. As a result, flights to Girona from UK airports are often a little more expensive at this time of year. If you’re planning on visiting some of the beautiful nearby beaches, or if you just want to soak up the sun from one of the many pavement cafes and terraces that dot the city, this is the perfect time to visit.

If you want to avoid both the winter chill and the summer crowds, book your flights to Girona in the late spring or early autumn months. These shoulder seasons offer a great mix of good weather and cheap fares, making them the ideal time to explore the city.

How to Find Cheap Flights to Girona

The ‘Advanced options’ on your Expedia search page allow you to select your preferred class and airline. You can also limit your search to direct flights and refundable journeys.

Girona is a small city: if you’re staying in the centre of the city, you’ll be able to travel to most sights and attractions by foot. For longer journeys, or if you don’t feel like walking in the hot Spanish sun, Girona also has a number of bus routes and taxis are available throughout the city.

Must-See Attractions in Girona

Girona’s most famous sight is its cathedral. Boasting the widest Gothic nave in the world, the imposing structure dates from the early 14th century and remains one of the most distinctive buildings in Girona. Visit the cathedral’s museum to learn more about its history and the religious life of the city.

Once you’ve explored the cathedral, it’s time to head out and discover the rest of the old town of Girona. The 13th century Jewish quarter is one of the most atmospheric parts of the city. There you’ll find a large number of historic buildings as well as a museum dedicated to the neighbourhood’s history. Spend an afternoon getting lost in the alleyways and winding streets that make up this part of the city.

I didn't like the self service bag check at Manchester. Too busy and you had plenty of staff who could have gone on the desks rather than having to do it yourself. It was like a cattle market.

Hate the pricing policy for selecting seats and buying luggage, feels as though you are trying to squeeze more money from us.
