Great booking through Expedia but would have liked the option of booking a breakfast deal with the booking. Didnt matter as it turned out as there is a supermarket in the next door block also one in the hotel which is new. We just bought food there and ate in our room, much cheaper. .Ive stayed in this hotel approx ten or more times ,its very convenient for everything.
I was greeted upon arrival with a superior room when my reservation was for a deluxe room.
However, the Front Office Executive, Mr Adrian, was very patient and understanding and admitted that the room was blocked as a superior by mistake.
Being in the service industry myself, Mr Adrian is a professional Guests Service personnel and York Hotel must be proud to have him!
On the other hand, the coffee house was a mess.
The staffs working there were having their private conversations too often with their voices louder than the customers! That should be changed! They need very much more training to improve the image of the coffee house in York Hotel!

Conveniently located next to the main shopping and entertainment belt of Orchard Road. Accessible from both within and …More
We are loyal Traders guests and have returned for many years for the much loved ambiance and location of this hotel. We hope that this will not be lost with the new re-branding which leaves us a little sceptical.
Our experience on arrival did not augur well…there was no-one to greet us on the forecourt, or take our bags. The charming young man on the reception desk appeared to have to do everything…including bringing our suitcases up to our room…more in keeping with a budget hotel….. although we were still paying 4 star room rates !!!!!
Let me immediately say however that with the exception of the staff on the forecourt, where the service was perfunctory at best, verging on downright rude on one occasion, everything else improved and lived up to the expectation we have had of Traders in the past
No other place rivals Orchard Road for its concentration of trendy and upscale shopping centers. Ngee Ann City has everything under one roof, from designer labels and street wear, to jewelry and fast food. Paragon has a string of high-end boutiques and fine eateries, while Hereen and Far East Plaza cater to young crowds. Don’t miss Tangs, Wisma Atria, and Centrepoint for multi-brand shops.
