Chestnut Ridge - NEW RENOVATION in 2019 - This home has been completely renovated - resulting in an intriguing combination of contemporary appointments and vintage architectural features. The wood floors and original moldings have been retained, giving warmth and character to the home. Chestnut Ridge is very convenient to All Star Village, Baseball World, Hartwick College and SUNY Oneonta. Main Street shops and restaurants are all very close!
There is an easy flow from living area to dining area to the kitchen. All of the necessary modern conveniences are included. The entryway is a glassed-in sun room. An open 15 x 24 deck is just off the kitchen - an inviting area for outside dining and relaxing.
All four bedrooms and one bath are located on the second floor. Another bath is off the common areas on the first floor. There are hardwood floors throughout the common areas and carpet in the bedrooms. Contemporary wall décor creates a welcoming ambiance.
Take time to read the fascinating story of the D&H Railroad - which is displayed in the dining room - a tribute to your hosts' father who had a long career with the railroad in Central New York.

We stayed at Chestnut Ridge home for a long weekend, we came here for a family event. The house is very clean and provided everything we needed. The only negative would be that it’s on a busy street so there is some traffic noise in the 2 front bedrooms and there are a few stairs that you need to climb to get into the house. A TV in each bedroom was a bonus for us.

House was perfect for our trip to see our 12 yo son/grandsons baseball team play! I had a couple special requests which were quickly answered and allowed. Beds/sheets were comfy.. fans, AC and tv's in all rooms. Highly recommend!

We had the experience of a lifetime! We came for week 2 of All Star Village and the house was very close to the park. It was clean and nice and had plenty of room for all 6 us to stay comfortably. We were very close to restaurants. The host responded quickly to questions and even had chairs and coolers available for us to use! Definitely would stay again. Loved the baseball pin display at the house entrance and the map with the location of where past guests were from.

The house was magnificent! It was very clean and organized. The beds were super comfortable. You really felt like you were at home. It had everything you could possibly need and then some. Being able to park directly in front of the house proved very useful. They had everything a baseball family would need which was awesome for us. We have to come back in two years to Cooperstown and I definitely plan to rent here again!

The host went above and beyond expectations. The defiantly went the extra mile for our Christmas family gathering!! They accomplished this with providing and setting traditional Christmas decorations. The kitchen was stocked with more item the any other Air B&B or VRBO that we have stayed in!!! The host was punctual with correspondence back-and-forth as we were planning our stay, and checked on us throughout our state to make sure we didn’t need anything more. When we stay in Oneonta, we will definitely be staying back with this host.

We had a great stay at Chestnut Ridge in June during our sons time playing at Cooperstown All Star Village. The property was less than 10 minutes from the fields and it was close to downtown Oneonta which was great for grabbing a quick bite to eat. The rooms are all spacious and cozy each having an AC unit. The kitchen had many supplies for cooking and grilling and the laundry was a major plus. The property was clean and comfortable. We even accidentally locked ourselves out one day and Carl, the owner was there within minutes to let us in. We would highly recommend it to anyone coming for the Cooperstown All Star Village tournaments.

Chestnut Ridge was a perfect place for my family to stay while our son played at ASV. The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay as well as many supplies which are perfect for a trip to the ball fields. Clean and cozy! Would absolutely stay there again.

From the outside it doesn’t look like much but the inside was very well done. Extremely comfortable beds and a well stocked kitchen. The only negative was it’s a busy street and a little noisy at night but ear plugs worked for that. It’s a very well cared for property and in a good location. Check out the Thai restaurant down the street. It’s amazing.

All the check-in and -out instructions were clear, as well as easy notes to follow around the house. This house is fantastic. We stayed here for my son's college graduation and this house made our celebration that much better. First, unlike many home pics, this home is bigger/more spacious in person than the pics suggest. There were 8 adults and we never, ever got in each others way or felt cramped in any way. Big living room and dining room, 4 perfect sized bedrooms - each with a TV and AC unit, 2 full baths, and the best stocked kitchen I have ever had in a home rental. Every utensil, knife, type of glassware, etc. we needed was there! Beyond this, the house is just beautifully decorated - simple and elegant and comfy. The back deck was perfect for us too - had a wonderful celebration dinner out there - great access right from the kitchen to the deck, and the sun porch in front was the ideal spot for early morning coffee or late night conversation. And Carl, the owner, was a text away and quick to respond with any question we had. The owners thought of everything! If you are in the area and looking for a place to stay of this sort - BOOK THIS HOUSE!
