"Good in between spot to meet up with family."
Good welcome at reception. Not too sure about access to room. Up steps over bridge link then down stairs. But very clean warm room. Comfy beds. Newly refurbished bathroom if a little small. Would benefit from a few toiletries, but plenty of hot water and towels. Much appreciated tea/coffee facilities.

Took my wife on a long weekend for our anniversary. We chose this area only because of my wifes maiden name is Newstead and we were visiting the Abbey and other attractions in the area. This Hotel fit all we needed which was basically Bed and Breakfast. Very nice staff and polite and a lovely breakfast.

"Home from home"
Both Sue and Bill made us extremely welcome even to the extent of giving us a piece of cake and a cup of tea on our arrival at approx. 6.30pm. The breakfast next morning was superb, cooked to order and utilising local produce, great bacon and sausages. Our room was spotless and the bed comfortable. All in all a very pleasant stay.

"Quiet Overnight in the Country"
Turning off the road into long driveway of hotel, presents you with what is to come - neat and tidy driveway, gardens and car park - no detail out of place. Friendly welcome by hotel reception staff as we entered a spacious entrance hall. Lots of information, questions answered and directed to room. First floor room by stairs. Room key (wow, none of your swipe cards :) ). Again, neat, tidy and purposeful bedroom with more than adequate storeage space. Double-bed (would have preferred king-size) but very comfortable sleep. View from window out onto adjoining fields. Nice heating, so much so windows opened and little but nature to listen to. Bathroom immaculate (probably new), large (length of room), nice fittings. Shower (hot) over bath. Breakfast in morning (8 to 10) plenty of choice, friendly service, made to order. Plenty of coffee/tea/toast. Don't forget to take a walk across the road to Kelham Hall & Country Park - breath in the country air! 5 minutes drive into Newark and all its history. Lovely place - will visit again, and enjoy more of the surrounding countryside

"Budget Hotel - good value."
This is a budget hotel. Stains on the carpet, cheap kettle and hairdryer in room, but they worked. There's nothing luxurious about it, but the bedding and bathroom were clean, the black out curtains were good, bed comfortable and shower had good power to it and was hot. For £36 for a twin room (therefore less than £20 per person per night) in the centre of Nottingham, I would definitely stay there again and would recommend it. However it is cheap for a reason, so if you don't like the odd stain on the carpet, it's not for you!

"Good location for Xmas shopping weekend"
8 friends and I stayed for a girls' Christmas shopping weekend. Perfect location for shopping areas in Nottingham and for restaurants too. Requested 3 rooms close together, so was very pleased to get not only that but 2 rooms had an interconnecting door, so we could all be together for socialising.
