"Very convenient to motorway links "
The hotel is located close to the motorway but sheltered from the noise. It has free parking. My room was spacious and furnished in a modern minimalist style. The bed was very comfortable with excellent quality linen. I did not use the air conditioning but it came on twice during the night, it was noisy. (Management apologised and would get it serviced). There is also a green LED light above the door, presumably a new fire requirement but the small light is sufficient to give the room a "martian" glow all night which makes a nonsense of having blackout curtains fitted on the window. As believe me it does make it difficult to drop off to sleep. Hotel WiFi was free and efficient. The hotel restaurant reception and service was very good, the menu had a good selection and the food I had was quite good. The breakfast buffet was generous and of excellent quality.

"Nice but no cigar"
We booked The Dakota Nottingham based on my husband's experience with its sister in Glasgow eurocentral in which he stays regularly and enjoys. We also recommended it to our friends to meet for dinner for the same reasons but particularly because my husband is a chef and quite hard to impress. The entrance was impressive, reception staff friendly and helpful, the room suggested luxury and menu promised foodie heaven, unfortunately something fell a little short of expectation. There was no home made jar of cookies(as in Glasgow) no squishy extra large comfy cushion(as in Glasgow) and the usual bathroom complimentaries were conspicuous by their absence. In the bar the wine list prices were different by over £2 from the website that I checked only the night before. In the restaurant there was no amuse bouche(as in Glasgow) whilst we chose our meals, the drinks took a long time to arrive and we had to ask for ice to keep the wine chilled as it was just placed on the table. One meal was good 2 were ok and one was disappointing. All these things, whilst small on their own, when put together made our experience underwhelming. But after asking for the bill we had to wait and wait for one of the staff, who were both leaning on the till and chatting, to collect payment or to take a minute out of their conversation with other guests, which I suspect were also staff, to look around, we were treated to a show of exasperation because we had to the audacity to ask that payment be taken.

"Nice stay in the Lincolnshire county"
Lovely and comfortable 4 poster bed and the breakfasts were huge. The pub which is a short walk up the road serves an excellent country evening meal at reasonable prices. Recommend the stay to anyone who wants a quiet rural location. Worth the 40p toll on the bridge into the village.

"Quiet Overnight in the Country"
Turning off the road into long driveway of hotel, presents you with what is to come - neat and tidy driveway, gardens and car park - no detail out of place. Friendly welcome by hotel reception staff as we entered a spacious entrance hall. Lots of information, questions answered and directed to room. First floor room by stairs. Room key (wow, none of your swipe cards :) ). Again, neat, tidy and purposeful bedroom with more than adequate storeage space. Double-bed (would have preferred king-size) but very comfortable sleep. View from window out onto adjoining fields. Nice heating, so much so windows opened and little but nature to listen to. Bathroom immaculate (probably new), large (length of room), nice fittings. Shower (hot) over bath. Breakfast in morning (8 to 10) plenty of choice, friendly service, made to order. Plenty of coffee/tea/toast. Don't forget to take a walk across the road to Kelham Hall & Country Park - breath in the country air! 5 minutes drive into Newark and all its history. Lovely place - will visit again, and enjoy more of the surrounding countryside

"Great location and good value for money"
Fantastic central location, room clean, staff friendly and efficient, everything worked, great value for money.Only slight issue was a dripping tap which did get a bit annoying (room 512) but other than that super, will be coming back.May want to reduce the breakfast price a bit as 10.00 seems a bit expensive when pubs very close by were doing full English breakfasts for 3 - 4 pounds and were top notch.
