"Breakfast was not to our liking -overcooked bacon and limited choice. Otherwise staff very helpful and nice clean hotel Fan bit loud but we stayed during heat wave and had fan on all night every night"

"Room was very clean and comfortable, the only improvement would have been aircon, it was the hottest weekend of the year. The staff were courteous and attentive without being intrusive. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was really delicious, the cooked breakfast was fresh and tasty and the continental breakfast had a good selection. The Bar had a good selection of drinks and was comfortable and relaxing. Sadly private event meant it wasn't open on the second night of our stay."

"Room was spacious, clean and the en suite adequate. We ate an evening meal and the menu was varied, the food tasty. The bar has a warm atmosphere. All staff were friendly and helpful. The morning staff went out of their way to make us feel relaxed and special. They were chatty, helpful and efficient. Special thanks to them. Overall, our stay was comfortable and we would definitely return. The only negative is that everything looks a little tired and in need of some “tweaking”. Otherwise, a very pleasant stay."

Village Hotel Nottingham

"Overall the room of the hotel was clean and tidy, however there is no air conditioning in the room. With the current summer weather it was quite hot and stuffy in the room. The restaurant food was good and reasonably priced. Parking was difficult but I managed to find a parking space, but it was pretty busy as a car park. Staff on entry were really friendly and helpful. I didn't use the spa or the swimming pool facilities so I can't comment on that"

Deincourt Hotel

"The hotel is minutes away from the centre of Newark. The lobby is inviting, lovely bar area with pool table and spacious dining room. The guests' outside area is clean and a pleasant place to relax. The staff were lovely, friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Our room, although not the biggest, had everything we needed including a fan which was welcome in the heatwave. Breakfast was plentiful and the guy overseeing it was extremely helpful and accommodating making sure everyone had what they wanted. The car park area and the almost derelict building beside the hotel is a bit off-putting but the hotel itself was fine. A wall light in our room didn't work, the wallpaper on the ceiling showed large patches of damp and the desk/dressing table glass top was cracked in several places. We didn't highlight these issues to the hotel as we were only there for one night. There was a bad drain smell throughout the hotel but I guess the hot weather made this more noticeable. Overall, it's a decent, friendly hotel and we will be using it again in the future."
