"I upgraded to larger room, it was clean, very comfortable, bathroom clean & functional. Unfortunately my 'upgrade' was a room right next to main corridor door on ground floor, to say it was noisy is an understatement. The biggest issue was not the hotels fault, as the people in the room above were so loud, it sounded like there was a party going on & constantly banging on their floor. The lovely receptionist did kindly go & ask them to stop when I complained at around 9.45pm, which they did, for 10mins then started again until after 11pm. Definitely not what I paid extra for. Not on my list of hotels/motels to ever use again"

"Great family room with so much space for us all, met at reception in the evening by lovely helpful staff. The bar area was lovely, breakfast with plenty of choice and a nice garden and park area for us in the morning before our travel"

Great plentiful breakfast with lots of variety. The large balcony in the breakfast /sofa seating area is beautiful with views and very comfy. "I stay here on a regular basis when I travel between Glasgow and the south. The hotel is a grand old building in a beautiful little hamlet off the A1 with lots of history. Due to this and the fact its family owned and not part of a huge chain, it’s a bit worn in places but it’s clean, comfortable and cosy with plenty of charm and quirks.. The staff are lovely, welcoming, very helpful and do their best to make your stay a good one. There’s a spa, a bar and a restaurant, the food is delicious and there is a variety of dishes to suite all. I would stay here before considering any of the other places nearby for all of these reasons."
