Well trained staff who were there to please guests

Location: The hotel overlooks York racecourse so is ideal for the racegoer. It is not far from the city centre and buses pass the hotel which is good because it
We could not find any faults in the bedroom facilities, bar , restaurant or reception.

A lovely hotel within easy reach of York centre.

Posted 09-Nov-2016
Pros: Though a very large and busy hotel, (there was a wedding party on our night of arrival) it was very quiet and peaceful throughout our stay.
Cons: Plates for the hot breakfast had not been heated so our food became cold by the time we returned to our table. Larger pillows on king size beds.
Location: Too many to list - Railway museum a must, also Betty's tea rooms.
This was our second visit to this hotel and again we were pleased with the facilities and comfort of the hotel- especially the king size bed - very comfortable! Staff were polite and attentive. Enjoyed having the option of using the spa facilities.

Great for half term break

Posted 05-Nov-2016
Pros: Good size room, nice views, lovely pool and hot jacuzzi, nice staff, decent breakfast.
Cons: Quiet for what is a decent size hotel, helpful staff, free parking, can use leisure at anytime, self service huge breakfast!
Location: 25 min walk to the heart of York or take the frequent buses to save trying to park. York Minster, Castle Museum and great local shops.

Great stay but busy at breakfast

Posted 04-Nov-2016
We stayed for 1 night with our son, and booked a 'double double' room. However when we arrived we were allocated two interconnecting rooms - one of which was HUGE. Both rooms very clean and good quality, although the style of décor is a little dated. We enjoyed the swimming pool and facilities, and the hotel would be lovely in the summer as the garden backs onto the racecourse. Hotel is very convenient with short bus-ride into York. Only negative was the 20 minute wait at breakfast time, however the food was excellent. Would happily recommend and stay again.

Good stay

We stayed in a superior room and the room was very spacious and clean. Comfy bed and everything else needed was there. I'd say the decor in the rooms is starting to look a bit tired and dated but noting that spoilt our stay.

Overall it was a nice room & an average experience. Paying £104 for a Deluxe room you would expect to have complimentary tea/coffee & water in the room though which we didn't have!!!
