"The hotel is perfectly located next to the OCAT terminal, subway station and hundreds of restaurants, cafes and shops underground so very convenient if its raining. The hotel is old and needs renovations urgently."

Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka

Hotel Monterey Le Frere Osaka

10/10 Excellent
"Honestly worth the splurge. Large rooms, awesome amenities, good location. The onsen was a godsend after walking 20k steps a day. You must be fully naked, and they provide covers for medium and small tattoos. Free ramen at 9 pm was cool, although we only took advantage of it once because we always had dinner right before 9. The tatami floors and being in socks all throughout the property was kinda cool, but sometimes hurts when your feet are hurting from walking so much. The rooms have everything you need, and the little grab & go ice cream was a nice treat. I wish the bed was softer, but I found that all the hotels I stayed in (4) had beds that were too hard for my preference. Hotel staff was super nice and very helpful. My favorite hotel I’ve ever stayed at, would highly recommend."

Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

Hotel Hankyu RESPIRE OSAKA

8/10 Good
"Excellent location that can't be beat; but the room size is small at minimum. I booked a triple room for 3 adults, and there is no space to open each person's luggage. No space between 2 of the 3 beds, and the bed by the wall only fits an unopened luggage. Other than that, the facility and the room are clean and pleasant."

Choose Accommodation in North Osaka

To the north of Osaka and beyond the city’s boundaries into the wider Osaka prefecture, you’ll find a range of accommodation in North Osaka, mainly clustered around the key road and rail transport hubs and the major sightseeing destinations. There’s a good selection of mid-range modern hotels, plus some affordable two-star properties.

About half an hour north of Shin-Osaka, the park occupies the site of the 1970 Japan World Exposition. You can still see some of the original exhibits, including the Japanese Garden, Japan Folk Crafts Museum and the 65-metre high Tower of the Sun. There’s also a host of sporting facilities, hot springs, a treetop walkway, the National Museum of Ethnology and the International Institute for Children’s Literature.

Discover Japan’s Natural Beauty from Your North Osaka Hotel

Explore the paths through the tree-lined gorge to see the spectacular Mino Waterfall, or pick up the start of the Tokai Natural Trail and enjoy the beautiful colours of the season whatever time of year. Also within the national park are several important temples linked to ancient Mountain Buddhism sites.

A little to the east, Settsukyo Gorge also offers striking scenery, good walking trails and hot springs. If you visit in the spring, be sure to check out the Cherry Blossom Festival held in the southern part of the Settsukyo Gorge Park.
