"The cottage was gorgeous, in a lovely quiet location and parking at the back. It was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. We only stayed a night but it had almost everything you'd need for a stay. A bit of soap in the bathroom and teatowel/towel and washing up liquid in the kitchen with some milk for a cuppa when you arrive would have made it perfect. "All the staff were lovely, friendly from the moment we arrived till when we left. The rooms were clean, tidy, and well presented, with thoughtful extra touches. The complimentary breakfast was also excellent and a lovely way to start the day. Such a shame we were only there for one day."

"Every member of staff we encountered from the receptionist to the maintenance staff and bar/restaurant staff were excellent. Such good customer service the manager should be very proud. Room was very good , clean, roomy and well appointed. The only complaint we had was that the drains in the bathroom smelt bad. It didn’t stop us enjoying our stay but if we had been staying more than one night we would have asked to change rooms. Apart from that we would definitely return."

"Easy location to find and convenient. The room was okay but a few black marks on the walls and some small areas of paint/plaster on the walls were missing, although the room was generally clean. Beds were comfortable too. Food there was good, tasty and well priced and they were very conscious and wary of allergens, which was very reassuring. I would stay here again as the location is very convenient for visiting nearby Bempton Cliffs"

"Friendly helpful staff. Food was very good for this star rating. Lovely cooked breakfasts and evening meals. All areas were clean and beds comfortable. Bathroom required updating but on the plus side loads of hot water. We stayed for a long weekend and due to hot weather needed the bedroom window open overnight. The street noise was pretty bad. On a positive note great location for all York has to offer. Very pleasant stay."

"Excluding the non functional ac in my room it was a very pleasant stay with incredible views of the minster very safe for solo travellers and for people who like nights out its round the corner from the iconic flares nightclub for people who like peace and quiet it is also really well suited the rooms have excellent sound insulation hardly any noise"

"Staff were very helpful and provided excellent service with a smile. When booking double check if you have breakfast booked. We had filtered by parking and breakfast and location. Location was excellent for us. Breakfast was extra and parking has a cost too. Beautiful garden and despite being on main road, very quiet. Thank you."
