"Great to have two double beds in the twin room Spa area, whilst small was a really nice add on. The bar shut a little bit early at 11pm The breakfast was fresh with an extensive choice but didn't cater particularly well for vegetarians (both of us are) with no veggie sausages/ haggis/ bacon. The staff were really helpful, polite and kind"

"Overall, the property was clean and well maintained. The staff was polite and excellent. Only complaint was that it was a bit hot at times and air conditioning would have been nice."

"An overall excellent stay in a handily-located hotel in the city centre. The staff were polite, friendly and helpful to a person and a credit to themselves and the hotel. The room wasn’t huge but had everything I needed for a two night stay. The air con worked marvellously, as did the blackout curtains. I appreciated having light switches over the bed as well as copious plug sockets. However, the breakfast was simply not good enough for a hotel at this price point. A Premier Inn or a Travelodge would have a cooked breakfast and toast available. This hotel had neither; the only cereal on offer was muesli or cornflakes. There were a variety of yoghurts and granolas but very little variety in fruit and veg. The coffee was subpar - barely better than powdered instant. A deeply disappointing aspect of an otherwise perfectly pleasant stay. "

"The sign as you come in needs to be more clear that the 7th floor is the reception as well as roof top terrace. Also the web site stated straighteners in room but you have to ask if in certain rooms . Other than these 2 points our stay was lovely and the hotel was exceptionally "

"Friendly , helpful staff. Stayed 2 nights prior to flying home from Edinburgh. Our only problem was that the shower sprayed onto the floor no matter how hard we tried to protect it. Not a big deal for us, but created extra wet towels for staff. Excellent breakfast, but need additional coffee service as the line was sometimes long to use 2 coffee machines. Coffee urns for regular and decaffeinated pre-brewed could solve this problem. Beautiful renovated restaurant/ bar with very attentive staff. Loved it!"

"Location doesn’t get better. Stayed in a six bedroom dorm and all was well. Great attentive staff and kind folk."
