The staffs are extremely kind and well mannered. I stayed 2 nights. The hotel is not updated but maintains traditional Japanese style. When anyone wants to experience traditional Japanese culture in Hokkaido, this is the best hotel I recommend. Unfortunately, the hotel needs renovation. 1, From check in counter, at second floor, to elevator floor has stairs and they do not have lamp ,so it was so hard to carry up our all luggage by our selves. 2, AC did not work well, so I asked a fan to put in our room. 3, Stairs to all floor is dirty and smells not good. They have very nice hot spring, free welcome drink, free Yukata rental, easy to see fire worlks from own room and so on. so I hope they improve thir facilities a little by little. 15minutes by taxi from Toyako JR station. You need to call the taxi if you want to ride. The dinner it is not better. But if you wanted there are a few restaurants near the hotel.
