The Boat Hotel

The Boat Hotel

8/10 Good
"The staff were very friendly and helpful. The only slight fault is that those working were extremely busy and so service was a bit slower. This is not unique to this hotel, we have found this in other places. Just a shortage of staff. But those there couldn't have done more to provide their service."

Dunalastair Hotel Suites

Dunalastair Hotel Suites

"Upon arrival, the staff were extremely friendly and welcoming. The hotel felt very luxurious from the get go and the customer service was exceptional, nothing was too much of a hassle for them. Our room was very modern and comfortable and had lovely extras including chilled boiled water and a Nespresso coffee machine. The breakfast included was exceptional with plenty of options including an a la carte menu or a buffet. The only thing we weren't super impressed by was the dinner in the hotel restaurant. We would without a doubt stay here again but just book elsewhere for dinner."

Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel

Loch Ness Drumnadrochit Hotel

8/10 Good
"The room was fine, clean and functional, though the window doesn’t open so it was a bit stuffy. Also, there is no soundproofing in the walls so you will hear what’s going on in the next room. This is an expensive area and this place is one of the cheaper hotels. The restaurant food was variable. The salmon on pea risotto was very good while the lemon tart was very forgettable. The staff were very good."

"Stayed at The Glen Hotel for a night... We should have stayed longer. Great bed, room, location. Food was top notch and breakfast kept us going as we continued our journey north. We'll be back I'm sure."

Highlander Hotel

Highlander Hotel

"I liked the location where we could walk to a store. The breakfast was delicious! The waiters were great. Some of the front desk staff could have been friendlier and more talkative. The upstairs room was clean but noisy enough at about 4am to keep me awake. (It sounded like furniture was being moved around.) I mentioned this to the staff, but they seemed unconcerned. I loved the wandering ducks! They were so cute. I was sorry I didn't have any bread to give them! :)"

Loch Ness Lodge

Loch Ness Lodge

10/10 Excellent
"We stayed one night at Loch Ness Lodge on the way from Skye to Royal Deeside, two days after getting engaged, and it was exactly the right place to land. Gabriel and the team had been in touch well before we arrived - clear directions, dinner sorted for us next door at The Clansman, and when we walked into our room there was red wine, chocolates and berries waiting with a note. It's a small lodge and it feels like one: quiet, personal, and looked after by people who plainly care about it. The room faced straight down Loch Ness. Waking up to that view with a cup of coffee is the reason you come here. Breakfast the next morning was cooked to order and unhurried, which set us up for Urquhart Castle ten minutes down the road. One practical note for EV drivers: there's no charger on site, so arrive with what you need or top up at Drumnadrochit; the lodge is upfront about this when you ask. Also, the entrance is a sharp turn just before The Clansman if you're coming from the south - worth knowing in the evening light. Warm, beautifully placed, and run with real attention. We'd come back without hesitation."
