Escape from the city
It far exceeded the description. We were looking to get out of the city for a few days and this was the perfect place for getting away. We wanted a place that was quiet and away from the noise of the city.

Loved the outdoor space!
Our family enjoyed a 2 night stay at the Cottage. Tbe beds, bathrooms, living space and kitchen were clean, tidy and cozy for our stay inside. However , we spent our time hiking the pasture trails, playing in the creek, fishing the pond and enjoying the sun on the porch. This was the highlight for our family. We brought most of our supplies we our trip, but noted the amply supply of kitchenware, boardgames, grill. We loved our secluded stay here!

Time stopped
Livia is terrific host -- this place is GREAT! We loved staying there and would dearly love to go back. Although our weekend went by fast, time seemed to stop at the same time. Thank you for such a special weekend!

Nothing but HONESTY 😊🤗
We first want to say this, all this is our first time...We feel we should give it another chance. So not giving it a 5star or less than a 4.We had issues but they can all easily be fixed. The issues we had were.. The link, address we put in didn't take us to the Property. There is No sign at the Drive way as it was stated in add. We were unable to enjoy the outside due to the high Grass, and weeds in yard and around pond. The path to Dock was over grown. It was being taken care of Saturday ( We were gone all day), but being there, Since Thursday night - Sunday check out 10:00 a.m. It was a bummer. We couldn't find Coffee or Creamer .. It's in the Freezer 😂 never did find the pepper! 😕 . A list of things and where they are would be nice. They do have laundry soap, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner. 😊 Salt and pepper is an iffy. Know that before you Check out! there is a chore list that consist of stripping beds, starting laundry, taking trash out and taking to dumpster up the road, all dishes need to be washed and no food.. I'm telling you this incase someone is handicapped and isn't able to do all this and checked out by 10am. Now in saying all that.. the house is Beautiful, the hostess is kind, the view is out of the world. The things I've talked about aren't huge really. I guess this is how it is straight across the board.

Peace and serenity, 10 minutes from town
Wow!!! This cottage and it’s location is perfect if you’re looking to get away from the city for some peace and quiet. We spent 8 nights here and didn’t want to leave. Sitting outside in the evenings, watching the sun go down and the deer in the fields was very relaxing. The cottage is stocked with everything that we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back.

Love this place
This cottage is calm, peaceful, secluded and comfortable. Has everything you need plus some. Plenty of space to spend time together and also quiet spaces to read. This was our second stay and we will go back again.

Awesome Place
We had an amazing time with beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the evenings on the deck listening to the animal sounds, lightening strikes brightening up the skies, animal sounds all around us. We could not have asked for a nicer stay. Kitchen was well stocked and we loved the quirky little nooks and crannies filled with nostalgia. Thank you so much for allowing us to share your lovely home.

Beautiful comfortable stay!
What a wonderful property! We enjoyed hiking with the dogs, listening to the turkeys at night, admiring the view from the large windows overlooking fields and the hilly tree-line. The property was just as described. The house was well thought out with more than expected amenities, great towels and sheets. We grilled out back one night and loved every minute. It was just as good with one notable exception. The property has hunting allowed on it now. I am now concerned to go due to errant gunfire or my 70lb dog to be mistaken.

HOUSE WAS JUST LIKE ADVERTISED. LIVIA WAS VERY GOOD-HONEST THAT THE OVEN WAS NOT WORKING, BUT GOT IT FIXED WHILE WE WERE THERE. WOULD HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE!

Peaceful Hideaway
This property is awesome! We had a great stay. Enough room to stretch out and enjoy the views while still being in ear shot from each other. Beds were super comfy. Kitchen has every thing we needed to cook a couple meals. We didn't get to utilize the outdoor space because it was cold but are hoping next trip that will be different. The only negative thing we have to say about it is the cleanliness off the place. At first glance it does look clean but as we continued our weekend we noticed things that we feel should have been taken care of. Like inside if the microwave was disgusting, we cleaned it though. Bath tub had dog hair in it (not from our dogs). Trash from previous guests under the sink around the trash can. Something nasty on the floor between. The couch and love seat. Many dirty dishes in cabinet which is not necessarily the host fault but maybe should have been check on by housekeeping. These are not things that would keep us from coming back, just things we would like to see improved on our next visit because we will be back!!

Beautiful Cabin and Setting
Awesome! The cottage was more spacious than it looked online, especially the spare bedroom, lots of space. Clean, comfortable, everything we needed plus some. I have never stayed anywhere that the fridge was stocked with condiments, coffee, etc. Kitchen was well stocked with all we needed. The views from every side of the cottage were just beautiful. The weather was cool in the evening so we did not get to enjoy the huge deck as much as we would have liked. We have friends in a nearby town and will definitely stay here again. Highly recommend the Marceline Pizze Co. as well as this cottage!

House was beautiful. We spent half our time in the sunroom and half our time in the swing. The breeze blew up the valley. The deck was hot in the morning, but cooled off by evening. The problem we had was finding it. It is listed as New Cambria, but actually is Marceline.

A few of my cousins and their families stayed at the house while in the area for a reunion. The place is beautiful & the views are amazing. The house had everything we needed and more. To the future renters: be sure to check out the stars, especially if you live in a city!

Beautiful location for a country getaway
We adored everything about this place from the amazing view out of the large kitchen windows to the wildlife and trails around the massive property. The fully stocked kitchen made it easy to make a few meals. We stayed here to visit The Walt Disney Museum, but hope to be able to go back just to enjoy the property more when it is warmer. Thanks for a great stay!

Amazing view and hiking
700 acres of trails outside the back door was a true blessing. The view of the forest and pond at dawn and dusk was the highlight of every day. We only left the property 1 time during our stay.

Country Retreat
A perfect country getaway - only regret was we couldn’t stay longer to really enjoy the walking paths and just chill for a day or 2 more. The home is welcoming with all of the amenities one would need and then some! This is just an exceptional and well-appointed getaway to enjoy.

Amazing slice of heaven
This property is absolutely wonderful! It was very clean with well appointed finishes, furniture, and decor. Lots of room, fully stocked kitchen and plenty of extra towels and linens. The exterior motion sensor lights outside were a great touch (we arrived at night). We also appreciated the free wifi and cable (or satellite?) tv. I only wish that I would have had more time to relax outside and enjoy the incredibly beautiful landscape. Huge side yard would make a great space for playing yard games, fire pit for smores, pond for fishing or swimming, trails for hiking, breathtaking views to take in and plenty of solitude to soak in the peace and quiet. 10/10 strongly recommend!!! If only every vrbo was this wonderful. Thank you to the owners for creating a beautiful and relaxing oasis in the hills of North Central Missouri.

Views like no other, incredibly spacious home and property, experience that cannot be forgotten.
This place is truly something from a fairytale. The inside of the home is enough to make you want to visit again. Then, walking around the outside of the home will provide you with views that feel like you are in a painting. Finally, you will be forever amazed if you decided to take an adventure through the trails at the back of the property. The atmosphere and experience at this home will make you want to stay forever.

aWESOME AND LOVELY...SO PEACEFUL AND THE VIEWA WERE AMAZING.
Ver cute country cottage with an outstanding yard and view. It was private, peaceful and lovely overall. Everything we needed besides our luggage and food was there and very clean and well kept. Loved the puzzles, games, books, videos and magazines and loved the country decor. Right up our midwestern roots alley! Thank-you...would love to bring our children and grandchildren there next year!

It was nice. We liked what they are doing with the property. We saw lots of wild life. It would have been nice to have a map of the hiking trails. The checkout procedures were a bit confusing. We read them several times. Unfortunately we did not spend as much time outside as we had planned because the ticks are so bad this year. Even with bug spray after just an hour of hiking we had quite a few ticks.

If you need a place away from the city to recharge - this is it
My husband took me here for a "birthday retreat" - It was exactly what I needed. Staying here feels like you are the only one in the world and there's plenty of ammenities to take care of your needs. We stopped at the grocery store in Marceline, stocked up and I never saw another person but my husband for 3 days. It was awesome! Anytime I need to get away from the city I'll be back!

Relaxing getaway
If you're looking to get away from hustle and bustle, this is your place. Everything you need is right there on the property - including giving trails. If you like watching raptors, there's a constant parade of hawks riding the wind currents right out the large windows. Communication, checking in and out couldn't have been easier.

Awesome property!
We really enjoyed our stay!! My husband said the king bed was super comfortable (rare comment from him!). We spent almost a week here. The trails were amazing! The scenery and wilderness was FANTASTIC. We loved the huge yard and firepit. We live only 2 hours away but felt as if we were ON VACATION!! It was so peaceful and wonderful to slow down! We hope to return!
