I loved staying here during my short stay in Naples and I will definitely be back! Yes, it has fantastic views, and a brilliant garden that you can use while you stay, but it was the staff that really made the difference. A fantasticly warm welcome, and help throughout my stay. Can't rate them highly enough!

O hotel é excelente, o staff bem atencioso. O único ponto “negativo” desse hotel é que fica um pouco distante dos pontos turísticos e uma subida muito alta. Em compensação, tem uma excelente vista.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The rooms are large and clean. It was a rare experience to stay in a monastery and the views from the top floor were amazing. Breakfast was also OK. Being from the UK it was hard not to have tea making facilities in the room. Also I found the reception staff hard to understand when asking for suggestions and directions. If you're gonna stay here be prepared to walk between 15-30 mins to restaurants or any attractions.

Dear guest, thank you for your review and all the suggestions you gave us. We think your opinion is the best way to improve services and to fulfill guest's needs. We are sorry you didn't ask for a Kattle because we can provide tea supplies for each room if you just ask for it, during summer not so many guests needs hot tea, that's why you didn't find it inside your room. About distance we have many attraction less then 10 min walk and if you don't feel like walking there is the Cable Car just 2 min distance by walk that will lead you to the most central shopping street, via toledo and piazza del plebiscito, in 4 minutes. Anyway we hope we can do better if you will give us the plesure to see you again, thank you again from Casa Tolentino staff.

Great first impression.
Great check in process. Very attentive and professional. The room was very large and clean, bathroom was spotless. Had an amazing view and it was in a good location.

Budget friendly
Friendly staff and delicious breakfast. If you're on a budget, this is the hotel for you. No AC, rock hard beds, and hard to get to (cabs don't know where it is). Noisy horn honking in the mornings. Lots of options for public transport around however. Beautiful views.

The property is all that you need as a base to visit Naples , clean , helpful and knowledgeable staff , the one thing they have which must be the envy of places to stay in Naples is a lovely garden overlooking the bay of Naples where you can have breakfast on a nice terrace or when you return from the hustle and bustle and noise that is Naples a place to chill in peace with a glass of something whilst taking in the view of Naples ,The only down side which did not affect us was access to the property is on a steep incline with cobbled streets , which may cause problems with anybody who has mobility problems .

Gem atop of Naples!
Exceptional location to access Metro, funiculari, airport. Stayed one night, large, bright, comfortable rooms, high ceilings as in a monastery, had two balcony’s in our room. Location is very easy to get to Archaeological Museum, Plebescito Square, walking around Naples which we did all day and to get to dinner at a Michelin star restaurant nearby. Great breakfast of local fare and assorted coffees. Some walking required to get to hotel from street below but so worth it for the service, cleanliness and amazing view of Naples & Bay of Naples. Stunning gardens with full access. Federica checked us in, professional, friendly, took time to show us on map where to get a sandwich and lunch, catch the funiculari to the metro at Via Toledo to go to the Museum. We’re from NYC and used to the crowds, city sounds and bustle of activity in Naples. Driving is tricky, so we taxied to Casa Tolentino when we arrived, then went back to the airport to rent a car the next day when we leaving Naples to go to Sorrento. Close to airport, could have taken public transportation but opted to take taxi because we needed a van as we were a group of 6 people with bags; Casa Tolentino tells you to call them when you arrive from airport and we were given name of taxi van to call; Vincent our taxi driver was polite and helped us with our baggage, told us about the area, offered his card if we needed him during our stay which we did use the next day to get back to airport to pick up our rented car. Great!

This place is amazing, it is peaceful and serene just minutes from the noise and hustle of Naples. The fact they are helping disadvantaged kids is a bonus. The breakfast is great. We will definitely stay there again. I've already recommended it to other travellers.

Hotel location was not easily reachable
Hotel was located at the top of a steep side road - not easily identifiable on a map. Access was via a not-too-visible door-bell. Reception was closed after 10pm - had to pay a surcharge for someone to wait for our arrival. Not suitable for people with walking disabilities - lots of steps and slopes.

Location, views and a real taste of Naples
Looking for something excitingly different. This will immerse you in a real taste of Naples. With a great location, stunning rooms ( get a sea view room), tranquil gardens, and really helpful staff, this is a truly amazing experience in Naples. Ditch the faceless glitzy 5* hotel on the seafront and immerse yourself in true Naples, you won’t be disappointed. With some monks still in residence, a truly hidden gem of a church on level 1l this place is amazing. Right by the funicular railway which will take you up to an amazing castle, or down into the hustle and bustle of Naples. The staff are super friendly and helpful, even taking us up into the roof to get a truly amazing sunset. If you’re coming to Naples, stay here, you wont be disappointed.

Full of extraordinary surprises...
Very individual and excellent service. Casa Tolentino is eclectic and something completely different to any other hotel we have stayed in. It’s full of surprises if you take the time time to explore the different floors of the hotel...! Beautiful gardens overlooking Mt Vesuvius, the city and the ocean. Very clean rooms and close to many attractions and restaurants that this amazing city has to offer. We really enjoyed it here and would highly recommend it.

Nice hotel for quiet retreat away from noises
First glance was shocking, a lot of hill to climb but eventually you get used to it and it became one of it attractions. Good fitness exercise. The service, room and the staff are excellent. The only downside is there no parking there but they have arrangement with a commercial car park and is expensive. Be careful with the staff call Raphael at the car park as he is very dubious. Apart from that I had excellent stay there.

Great property near the funicular and has a big nice garden. However access is a bit of a challenge, if you have a lot of luggage, be patient and take a deep breath.

Lovey & peaceful hotel right above bustling Naples
Casa Tolentino is the perfect place to enjoy the excitement of Naples without getting exhausted. It is located right above the old quarter, 5 min down via funicular,10 min by foot. It is a very well appointed hotel, beautiful and peaceful, surrounded by a huge garden. The rooms are big and squeaky clean, most of them overlooking the sea. The hotel is run by an organization of young people who feel passionate about the neighborhood; they are extremely resourceful and helpful in organizing aspects of your stay in Naples. We did two fascinating private tours through them; one of the historic district with one of the organizers, Luca; we recommend it highly. In all regards, we are very happy about having stayed at Casa Tolentino.

Thoroughly satisfied with our experience at Casa Tolentino. The room was modern, spacious and had fabulous views across the Bay of Naples. The garden and terrace were a lovely facility to enjoy the last of the evening sunshine.

Great view, great people
Beautiful beautiful view. Rooms were spacious and clean. No frills but lots of nice touches like 15th century paintings in the lobby etc. Everyone was super nice and accommodating. Breakfast was common pastries and deli but still good. Only negative was that it was at the top of the hill. We were walking from the train station with lots of luggage. Long haul but worth the view!

Loved this place! The staff were all so friendly and helpful (& they all spoke good English). The location was great - easy walking distance from Spagnoli and Chiaia. Great views of the bay from our room. The garden was a wonderful, tranquil escape from the bustling city. The breakfast was buffet style, lots of delicious things to start your day! Good coffee too!

Good location, great staff, amazing place. Suggest taking a taxi there if you have suitcases. The view and the place is well worth the walk up the Spanish district.

Little oasis of calm in a busy city
Facilities are basic but very clean an comfortable. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was basic but adequate and comparable to most Italian b&bs. Lots of steps and climbing before you get to the lift plus it's at the top of a hill. Lovely ambiance within and In the gardens.
