Nicely appointed. Clean. Has a medieval feel with high ceilings, large doors, and frescoes ceiling - good feel for what historical Naples is like - mix of modern and antiquity. Conveniently located - short walk to Archeological Museum. Metro Station, Piazza Bellini and Piazza Dante and two Metro stops to Via Toledo Shopping area and Spanish Quarter. I was contacted by the manager beforehand to arrange a concrete check-in time as there is no 24 hour reception. That worked out perfectly. Rooms were clean and have very high ceilings. Beds were comfortable. The breakfast is provided by a cafe across the street - one coffee, one juice, and one croissant. The really unpleasant surprise was that shampoo and shower gel are provided as part of a welcome kit and are not replenished although the cleaning is done daily. When I sent an ironic joke to the manager he called me rude. Hardly a professional attitude. Although wifi is usually available, the cell phone coverage in rooms is nearly absent due to thick walls. The location is great for tourism in the old town. The staff were friendly enough but we had to wait 10 minutes when we arrived for someone to appear and it is not a good way to start. The 2 superior rooms we reserved had great 19th C ornate ceilings but the facilities were also a bit yesteryear. The very cramped shower ran out of hot water after one of us washed their hair. There was not enough light over the basin to shave effectively. The bed was very hard and the pillows were synthetic and lumpy. Air conditioner was out and it was super hot and humid, so we were moved to their sister hotel down the road. Our room smelt of sewage in that hotel, but at least we had air con. Both hotels in a central location to explore Naples. There was the additional problem of the walls being to thick to get service. The fridge in the rm did not work and the hairdryer did not get hot. I wouldn't stay here again. Pay a little more and get a nicer place. Naples was sketchy and dirty in general. La décoration en impose dès l'entrée (petit salon avec télé, bibliothèque, peintures au plafond de la chambre...). L'hôtel est calme, la literie est bonne, on s'y sent bien après de longues journées de visites. Proche des restaurants pour le soir, proche du métro, du musée archéologique, du quartier historique et de la rue commerçante. L'accueil est très agréable et le gérant est très serviable (info, plans, réservation de taxi ...). Es un lindo B&B, ubicado en una zona que nos pareció muy segura y con mucha vida. Está a dos cuadras de la Piazza Bellini, la cual tiene alrededor muchos típicos y buenos restaurantes y bares, y calles peatonales con mucho movimiento de gente y muy buen ambiente. El personal muy bueno, nadie te molesta y son muy serviciales (no hay personal las 24 hs, pero claro, es un B&B), y pueden comunicarse en inglés. La decoración muy buena, impregnada de arte y literatura. Al llegar, el edificio puede provocar una mala sensación, pero una vez dentro y viviendo se entiende de qué se trata y se disfruta de que el lugar sea como es! Seguridad absoluta también al disponerse de 3 llaves para acceder al hotel, más la propia de la habitación. En cuanto al desayuno, hay que completar un rápido formulario escogiendo las cosas que quieras que te sirvan, y te lo llevan a la habitación a la hora que quieras (hasta las 10 o 10.30), aunque la calidad de los productos podrían ser un poco mejores (el café es muy bueno, de todas formas). En resumen, totalmente recomendable!! ##### Juan Manuel ### 6/10 Okay #### Claire, london 15 Jul 2015 Disliked: Staff & service, property conditions & facilities #### good location, mixed veiws on reception and rooms The first time we stayed our room was pretty rubbish - poor lighting, a hard bed and a bathroom door that scraped along the floor noisily and didn't fully open. However, when we returned a week later, our room was much nicer with a beautiful painted ceiling. The reception is not staffed and so this can mean you wait around in order to check in etc. However, if you have the phone number, they are responsive at answering the phone and helping. Breakfast is in your room and you select what you want the evening before from a list, and leave your order at reception. Different!
