"Hotel easy walking distance to Gare Montparnasse "
We chose to stay at this hotel because of other reviews. We arrived after midnight and staff were warm and welcoming. We had an early train to catch the next morning so I can't comment on places of interest nearby. The hotel room was very small, but had everything we needed, included WiFi. We ate breakfast at the hotel which was pleasant and staff very helpful.
I've stayed in this hotel numerous times over the years as I like the location, which is very convenient to transportation, restaurants, etc. The current hotel staff was great, in the past I've had a few issues with someone on the desk, but generally they are good. The rooms are comfortable (it is nice to get a hotel with an actual comfortable mattress in Europe, not one that is hard as a rock) and well-appointed. The only drawbacks are the corridors are very narrow which can affect noise and the doors cannot be shut quietly. So there tends to be noise sometimes from others sort of slamming the doors to shut them (they have to be kind of tugged). The rooms are not huge, but adequate. I think the full-season price is a bit high now for this hotel (which used to just be a 3*, not sure how it got 4*, it seems the same), but it is a good deal in off-season or any special rate. I must give the staff credit that they paid attention and honored my specific room requests regarding location and height, which not all hotels do. They now have a hot pot, which is new, with some instant coffee which I appreciate to get going in the morning (although they only left one cup amount).
Is a good place locate in a good part of Paris, one block form the Metro, what is very good.
the employees serving in the hotel are very dear, do one feel at home and are always attentive to resolve concerns.

The staff were very polite and to the point; the room was very clean; the area was quiet and we were able to sleep easily; the breakfast however was not of a high standard, but on the other one can does not have to pay for it if one does not wish to - and we didn't. The only other possible if for others, but wasn't a problem for us, is that it's a little distance from Paris's main attractions. It is however within a short walking distance of taxis, buses and the metro. I would recommend this hotel.
We have stayed in this hotel now 3 times and each time have been pleased. The staff/reception is exceedingly friendly. The furniture in the rooms doesn't necessarily match and is rather used, but all the important stuff is excellent--cleanliness, quality of the mattress, highly functioning air conditioning, and consistency of hot water. And the price is very reasonable for a Paris hotel--so the quality of the furniture in my estimation is not of real importance if that helps to keep the price reasonable.
the Atelier St. Germain was lovely but very small in all aspects from the room to the elevator. For us, it earned points for cleanliness, comfortable beds and bathroom, and close proximity to the RER trains, SNCF train station, Luxembourg Gardens, and fantastic restaurants. We would return here.

stayed 6 nights. Would definitely stay again. Great location, steps to Metro and short walk to train station. Surrounded by good restaurants. Mini-mart and fruit stores steps away. Room small (expected this in Paris so no big deal) but clean and well equipped. Staff pleasant and very helpful. Street gets very lively at night but room was quiet.
South of the Latin Quarter, this residential and commercial district contains the evocative cafés and brasseries of the Lost Generation near Place Vavin and Montparnasse Cemetery. Attractions include the Catacombs, Parc Montsouris, the Cité Universitaire and a clutch of little art museums. The discount fashion stores of Rue d’Alésia and Vanves flea market attract bargain-hunters. There are good bus and train links to Orly Airport.
