The best areas to stay in Miraflor are the Old Town for its historic charm and convenience, or the beachfront promenade for direct access to the sea and a more relaxed atmosphere. The Old Town, centred around Plaça Major and the historic church, is Miraflor's heart. Its narrow, winding streets are pedestrian-friendly and lead to a variety of independent shops, traditional tapas bars, and quality restaurants. You'll find many of the town's historical buildings here, offering a sense of local life.Couples often find the Old Town particularly appealing. Its intimate streets and numerous dining options create a pleasant setting for evenings out. It's easy to spend your days exploring the local craft shops or enjoying a coffee in one of the squares, with many attractions just a short stroll away. For those who prioritise being by the sea, the beachfront promenade area is ideal. It stretches along the golden sands, offering hotels and apartments with direct beach access and views of the Mediterranean. This area is generally flatter and more open than the Old Town, with a wider selection of modern amenities.Families often gravitate towards the beachfront. The easy access to the beach means children can play in the sand and swim whenever they like, and many establishments along the promenade cater to families with casual dining options and ice cream parlours.

The best time to visit Miraflor is during the spring (April to May) and autumn (September to October) months for pleasant weather and fewer crowds.During these periods, you'll experience mild temperatures, great for exploring the town's historic centre and enjoying its outdoor cafes without the intense heat of summer. The spring brings blossoming flowers, particularly noticeable in the Botanical Gardens, while autumn offers comfortable conditions for hiking in the nearby Sierra de Miraflor Natural Park. You'll find it's easier to secure reservations at popular restaurants and attractions during these shoulder seasons. For those looking for a beach holiday, the summer months of July and August offer warm sea temperatures and plenty of sunshine. This is peak season, so expect the beaches, such as Playa del Sol, to be busy and accommodation prices to be at their highest. It's an excellent time for families due to school holidays, with many activities and events organised along the beachfront promenade. If you're interested in cultural events, check the local calendar for the annual Miraflor Festival in late June, which features traditional music, dance, and gastronomy.
