I rarely write reviews about holiday stays but had to do so for our three night stay at Grange Manor. The room was fabulous-luxurious,spotless and so comfortable and the extra finishing touches made it a home from home. Breakfast served every morning in the room was a delight. Real luxury, and a quiet, dark night's sleep.

A really enjoyable stay. Jim and Monique we’re really helpful and attentive. The room was spacious and clean and comfortable.

Hard to access carpark on site. Very cramped entrance on a major slope and limited parking space. We were met on arrival after ringing doorbell by woman who wasn't very friendly. She asked us how we managed to get into reception as we apparently shouldn't have been able as door should have been locked or closed. Great stay would stay again if i was in Windermere

We stayed in this lovely guest house for two nights as we were attending a family funeral. We arrived at about 3pm on the first day and were greeted by a lovely lady who explained where everything was and showed us to our room. We had a king room which was absolutely huge, with a massive, very comfortable bed, a large and comfy sofa, a large bathroom with an excellent shower and a really big TV on a rotating wall bracket (to make it watchable from anywhere in the room). Amazing experience. Fantastic staff and customer service, very friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived. Cream tea was freshly prepared and scones still warm. Room was amazing with a beautiful lake view. Homemade shortbread in the room was a lovely touch. Breakfast was also amazing, lovely fry-up with good quality ingredients. Brilliant experience all round, we will definitely be staying again.

Staff were excellent. The food was excellent. Everywhere was spotless. The 4 bedrooms are up 3 flights of stairs but the staff we extremely helpful. An enjoyable experience. The pub is quirky.

Stayed over Easter weekend. Arrived Friday night and was greeted by one of the owners, Bonnie. We have a double room, well sized with lots of storage. Bed was soft and good for a few nights with been uncomfortable. Ensuite was good as well and the showers hot. All rooms look to come with a TV (limited to ITV and C4 channels only) and welcome book with the WiFi information (good for streaming) Breakfast has to be preordered by 7pm he day before, good range of hot food on selection...

Everything about The Royal is quality. The rooms are beautifully decorated and very comfortable and the food is excellent, varied and very good value for money

We received a warm welcome in the bar and were shown our room. The room was quite small but it was clean and well laid out and had everything we needed. Breakfast of cereal bar, instant porridge and a croissant is provided but we headed to the Wetherspoons or local cafe. The bar is very welcoming and has a nice atmosphere. We liked the central location for exploring Lancaster and not far from the University so we were able to easily visit our son. We will definitely be back.
