"A beautiful guest house in a fantastic location. I received a very warm welcome, and my room was spotless, comfortable, and well maintained. The breakfast was excellent, and the overall stay offered great value for money. Highly recommended!"

"Check in was not good. I traveled from a different country and needed wifi to get a code. I had to drive 5 miles to get to a friend to call the owners. The owners were in and out of service so they could only text.
When i finally got the proper code. It was 5 flights of steep stairs. It should have been told how many flights of stairs to go with a large suitcase."

Hotel was lovely, room was spacious and very clean. Owners were very nice and very helpful. Breakfast was fabulous. The owners could not do enough to help you enjoy your stay. Gave lots of information on the local area and would book restaurants etc if you asked. Highly recommend this hotel.

The visit was to celebrate my wife's 70th birthday and the staff were excellent. The evening meal we had for her birthday was very good together with the birthday cake which the management kindly purchased for me.

A guest house in Melrose is typically a larger establishment with more rooms, offering a more hotel-like experience, and may provide additional amenities including luxury bedding. A B&B is often more personal, and breakfast is typically included as part of the stay, but other services might be more limited compared to a guest house.
