I’ve been staying at the copacabana for over 30 years.
There are nicer, modern, better valued hotels in the area but I choose this one as I’m loyal and know what to expect, Although I thought.
It used to be great value for money, somewhere my family could come to visit but from arrival,was upgraded without being asked at an extra charge.
When we decided to check out both rooms we went for the upgrade to then find out there was no air con in the living room. We decided to go back to our original booking but was then told we couldn’t have it as we was over the minimum guest amount for that size. Which I could understand if we wasn’t given the option when shown both rooms.
The rooms are dated the only thing that makes me return is a handful of people like the doormen/women, waiters in the restaurant and bell boys that always remember us, kind and always willing to help with a smile.
