These four architecturally impressive skyscrapers function as a business park and overlook an area of spectacular greenery in downtown Madrid.

The Four Towers Business Area (Cuatro Torres Business Area) is an innovative business district and a symbol of Madrid’s modern architecture. It comprises of four landmark buildings, each with their own individual designs created by well-known international architects. They stand in the old Ciudad Deportiva, the former training facilities of Real Madrid soccer club that has been turned into an area of urban parks.

Rising to a height of 817 feet (249 metres), Torre de Cristal is the tallest building in Madrid. It is the work of the Argentine Cesar Pelli, who was also responsible for designing the Petrona Towers in Kuala Lumpur. The tower’s name translates to Crystal Tower, a reference to the glass-paneled façade. A vertical garden decorates the summit.

Built using panels that resemble flakes, Torre PwC is unique in that it is the only one of the four towers designed by Spanish architects. A 5-star hotel occupies many of its 52 floors and features some of Europe’s highest hotel rooms. Make a reservation at the hotel’s restaurant and enjoy panoramic views of Madrid from floor-to-ceiling windows while you dine. Note how the Norman Foster-designed Torre Cepsa has similarities to a giant bookshelf and oversized Lego construction.

Art installations, gardens, fountains and paved walkways intersperse the towers. Watch as office workers come and go, eat their lunch at the public spaces and catch some sun in summertime. Nearby is the EMT Madrid Museum, which houses a collection of historic public transportation vehicles. To the west of the complex are Parque Norte and Parque de la Ventilla, two popular parks with grassy lawns, pathways and sports courts.

Several of Madrid’s bus lines serve the Four Towers Business Area. Take the metro Line 10 to Begoña station and then walk south for 5 minutes to reach Cuatro Torres. Alternatively, catch the train or metro to Madrid Chamartín, one of the city’s major railway stations, located northwest of the business area. From Puerta del Sol, in Madrid’s city centre, it’s about a 10-minute journey by metro.
