About this property

Boatel No. 2 'madrigal'

Campsite in Machynlleth with kitchen and fireplace
Latest addition to our award winning rental business. A quirky experience that isn't glamping! A 1960's wooden yacht moored securely at 750ft above sea level with access to the 2013 'Shed of the Year' and a 1950's kitchen diner. Stunning location with stunning views into southern Snowdonia. Ideal chill out space or base for more strenuous activities such as mountain walks and mountain biking. We have DOGS, CATS & CHICKENS. If you don't like these please book elsewhere! Sorry no pets as we are sandwiched between two organic sheep farms.Guests have access to the award winning shed, the 1950's kitchen diner with 2 gas rings and an oven, the compost toilet, a flushing toilet and shower outside of our Elizabethan (1600 AD) farmhouse.Socialise with us and other guests as much or as little as you like.We are located in the beautiful Dyfi (or Dovey) river valley and have exceptional views into Southern Snowdonia. Also near by are beautiful beaches, the Centre for Alternative Technology and lots of steam railways...Public transport is pretty rubbish. The nearest railway station is in Machynlleth 7 miles away and we can pick you up and drop you off if required. If you are driving the tarmac road runs out on the way up to ours after the hairpin bends and potholes can be a slight problem. This space is small! The mattress is a 'small double' which is 4 feet wide, 6 feet 3 inches long or 122 x 190 cm. We supply all bedding, soap and toilet rolls but DO NOT supply towels or provide breakfasts. We also supply tea, coffee and sugar but not milk.We are located in the beautiful Dyfi (or Dovey) river valley and have exceptional views into Southern Snowdonia. Boatel no 2 Madrigal
I enjoyed it, it was different , very peaceful and the views are stunning. The hosts are very friendly and welcoming. When booking bare in mind it is very basic and quite difficult to find up a narrow track up the hills
