"Booked a “best estuary” view room and it did not disappoint, view was amazing and we had a lovely large balcony. We had fantastic weather for October so we made the most of this beautiful location. "A large property in a beautiful location with enough bedroom space for 9 people with smaller family members in the bunk bed. Anybody with physical disabilities will find the many steps down to the beach difficult but perfect for a family with teenagers. Pros - The views are sensational and it is in a quiet, peaceful area. A fantastic garden with lots of space for dining, games and sunbathing (although no sun loungers) and good ability to keep on top of washing in utility room. Very short distance to the local beautiful beaches. A good beach cafe, farm shop and cafe and toilets close by. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking implements, we were glad we bought a huge saucepan to be able to cook for 9. A large fridge freezer was also very welcome. The kids loved the quirky layout of the house. This was a good family holiday with lots of beach fun with doggy in tow. Would highly recommend a trip to the pebble beach in Beesands and a meal at the cricket Inn. No smart TV was actually a good thing here and kept teenagers off devices.Cons - The property wasn’t particularly clean on arrival, dirty mugs under bed, a large amount of cobwebs and floors with lots of sand on. There were not enough instructions for appliances e.g. downstairs shower (has a booster in the kitchen cupboard) and the induction hob had to be googled. There were a few things that were not working quite correctly, the dishwasher doesn’t sit properly within the kitchen unit, the cooker door is unreliable an"

Perfect location for visiting the town which is short walk away and also going out of town to visit other places. A truly gorgeous scenic area."

"We had an amazing week at Scoble the views and interior design of the cottage are just stunning. The hosts went out of their way to make our stay as comfortable as possible - it’s the ideal spot to access Southpool and the Millbrook arms too. The combination of the isolation and tranquillity and also the ability to access Salcombe via the ferry is perfect."

"The property was fine, being met with a pair of underpants on the outside banister didn’t bode well, but once inside it was fine. We are in our seventies so going downstairs in the morning with two cups of tea wasn’t ideal but we worked around it. The place was clean and very well equipped although we ate out every day. Salcombe is very niche and expensive although very beautiful and the natives were friendly enough. There are some lovely views a hilly walk away. There are National Trust gardens almost next door. We cut our holiday short as the weather was bad. I am a nervous passenger and driving round those Devonshire country lanes is not for the faint hearted so trips out were not a thing we did. Where 22 Bolt head is is a long walk, a ferry trip or a 10 minute drive away from Salcombe. The owners should be proud of 22, it is decorated tastefully. I would suggest getting some new jigsaws as the ones I did all had pieces missing!"
