Craigellachie Hotel of Speyside

Craigellachie Hotel of Speyside

10/10 Excellent
"This hotel is conveniently located to the whisky trail with Glenfiddich and Macallan distilleries being within 10min drive. Hotel has a nice restaurant on the property and there is another good one 2 min walking distance. Our room had all basic amenities and was clean. The hotel has a rustic character of a building over 100 years old. It is very lovely but it comes with old furniture, uneven floor, no AC, and no elevator. Staff was very friendly and eager to help with travel information and other needs."

A guest who chooses a historic hotel has a chance to stay in a place that's been recognised with a national historic designation. Historic hotels throughout the world have had many former lives and uses, such as castles, palaces, grand homes or even old police stations, pubs, lodges or skyscrapers — any building that's been identified as being of special interest. What is the difference between a historic hotel and a heritage hotel?
These terms are similar. The term "historic hotel" is more common in the U.S., whereas "heritage hotel" is common in Asia and Europe. Historic hotels tend to focus on the architecture and building. Yes, efforts are made to preserve historic facades and treasured traditions, but hotel interiors are fitted with modern conveniences and safety features.
