"We stayed in a 1-bedroom cottage. The space was really nice and the bed was very comfortable. However the sofa bed was very small (only just big enough for 2 young kids) and very uncomfortable. And the room really needed a deep clean, all the corners were dusty and the carpet had hair in it. Plenty of parking, nice breakfast and helpful staff. We probably would stay again depending on the price, just manage our expectations. We enjoyed Gretna village, for families the playpark was just a short walk away and really excellent, we also enjoyed the maze."

"Happily, parking was a breeze and was included in the cost of the room. I was delighted with the lakeside view from the balcony. The room was clean and airy and I got a restful sleep, not a given, I can assure. Overall, I would recommend staying. The view is really quite special."

"Good clean stylish property. Mixed old character property, tailored for modern use. Elevator takes you to 1st floor only but if you do require mobility use rooms, the staff were more than accommodating to ensure needs were met. The rooms were extremely comfortable, good space and decorated modern with character still intact, it did not feel claustrophobic however it did not have a mini fridge or a safe (that we could find). The property was warm, which was expected in mid-summer, although the room did not have A/C (again expected as we were in Scotland which has a cooler climate), there was fans provided for us which was more than adequate. The staff were a credit to the hotel, they were friendly, approachable and there wasn’t an issue too much for them. Overall, very impressed with the hotel and more so the views and grounds the hotel offers. The price was more than reasonable for the room we booked and the restaurant food was beautifully cooked and present, at a very reasonable price again. Thank you to the staff at Hetland Hall"
