"The staff were very polite and was very helpful nothing was too much trouble. Room was cleaned daily. Food was very good and varied.The only criticism was that the main lift was out of order whilst we were there so had to use the smaller lift which often made it a longer wait to get to our room. "Me and my hushad an amazing weekend for our 1st anniversary, food was excellent location was fantastic. Hottub in the forrest was an experience, although the Sauna was a little too small, not much value for money we paid on the twilight package we picked. Next time we would just book the hottub. Peacocks roaming around the grounds feeding out of your hands was something else. I would highly recommend a stay at Ruthin Castle. "

"WHAT A FIND!!!! A real gem After being let down with our original booking, we found the Black Lion Hotel. It's set in a small, quiet village near the river. We had a superb evening meal, the pub was busy in both the bar and restaurant area all evening, which is always a good sign.... the food was superb, service was excellent The room we stayed in was quiet, clean, the bathroom was a good size, the bed was comfy. The breakfast in the morning was superb quality made from local produce. One of the owners Rachel, sat and chatted with us after breakfast about the local area and the pub itself, which was really nice as she were preparing for a very busy Father's Day carvery afternoon and evening Its definitely a place we will return too stay and also to eat... I would recommend highly to anyone "

"Stayed in one of the lodge rooms after doing the Welsh Three peaks. Being able to park right outside the room was a really helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable, and the half price access to health spa was a real bonus. Will be staying again"
