"We really loved our stay with one exception. A woodpecker would wake us up daily between 6am-6:30am pecking loudly on the outside of our suite (#58). We asked if anything could be done but there wasn’t and it was a common occurrence. We would love to go back if we can be sure we could sleep in."
"There is a reason this is a cheap place. You don't get much. The room I was in had poor water pressure. The shampoo was out. They provided a bar of soap and the body wash dispenser had a little in it. The pillows were thin, but the bed was comfortable. The TV had plenty of channels and the wifi worked ok. I had to ask for the wifi password, though. They did not provide that without asking. Check-in was like any other place. They had actual room keys like it was 20 years ago. In fact, everything about this motel was like Bush had just invaded Iraq for no valid reason. The town is small and seemed sketchy, but nothing happened to me. The key dropped out of my pocket when I was at a restaurant, and someone returned it. The best part of this place is that two doors down is a bakery and restaurant with delicious Mexican food for a decent price. The bakery goods looked amazing, although I only had one churro at breakfast. This is where to get your morning coffee."
"PARDON THE RENOVATION CONSTRUCTION: Room was newly remodeled but I don't think they are finished with final things. Like there were no towel bars to hang your wet towels and no toilet paper holders. Brand new TVs were being installed in the lower rooms along with other renovations going on. The construction crew were pretty messy with the trash and the wind blowing didn't help much. The outside property was not clean looking at all, but WOW the rooms look really nice! The one negative thing I have to say is that there is no coffee in the room. They have a coffee machine in the lobby but I went at 6:45 AM and the lobby was locked so be sure to ask what the hours are to get a cup of coffee. Overall, once renovation construction is over, this place will be really nice. Construction was quiet and kept reasonable hours. Construction is taking up a lot of parking spaces during the day, but at night there was plenty of parking. I will stay here again."
"To be fair I did look back at my four page email confirmation and did see I was informed there was no wi fi. Did not see that. We did not come to Big Sur to surf internet but no access to outside phone calls, weather and maps presented difficult planning logistics. "
"My husband and I just returned from a 2 night stay at Post Ranch Inn and we were extremely satisfied with our stay. The staff goes above and beyond from the moment you arrive until you leave. The grounds are immaculately kept and there are plenty of activities to keep you busy while staying at the inn. The restaurant was amazing for both breakfast and dinner. I really cannot say enough about the service. We just hope that we can make or back again in the future."
