it is right in the park and hiking trails going directly from the lodge. unfortunately the park was closed due to fires.

Lodge definitely needs some updates. The door handle to the patio was loose and the carpet look like it needed to be updated or just cleaned. However, location is beautiful and staff are very helpful and friendly.

Convenient location. Store hours weren’t what they had on papers. None of trails on premise were open due to fire but they didn’t mention that on their website or when booking. Room was old and smelled of urine with a leaking shower faucet.

We stayed at the lodge for 3 days with 3 teens. We had a LOVELY time, and that is saying a lot! The rooms were spacious, and every day, they delivered firewood and started for the fireplace at no charge. There is no internet ANYWHERE in Big Sur, but we had great connection at the convention center as well as the lodge. Also, the water pressure was great and we always had hot water. The staff was top tier. They had great recommendations for

Sparse room, with just the basics, but clean. It consists of many “cabins”. It seems more suited for group trips for those going hiking or biking. Decent bed. A bit chilly at night. Lack of Wi-Fi in the room was disappointing, as we couldn’t use our devices to plan our next day’s events. Quiet. Deer seen around the cabins. Helpful staff. Dining restaurant was closed - guessing due to the wildfires and lack of many visitors??. We found a mediocre restaurant nearby for dinner, so it worked out. We booked this facility only 20 minutes before we arrived (about 5p), so we hadn’t researched it before to know what to expect (we were on a road trip and just needed a place to sleep and were happy to find this place available). if you’re staying for awhile, and bring provisions to prepare your own meals, this place had a decent kitchen area. We did not mind the no frills, the Wi-Fi in the rooms would be helpful. When we were there, Wi-Fi was only available if we walked to their central “community” building. Beautiful area. Quick drive to Pfeiffer Beach, which is phenomenal!

The lodge is exactly what we wanted. Set back off the main road, in the middle of the redwoods, and that 80s style summer camp vibes. No tv’s or wifi but the fire place and coffee in room gave a feeling of having everything we need. The check in process seemed frustrating for other patrons but staff was pleasant and accommodating. We will go back.

We had a wonderful time at the Big Sur Lodge. Our cabin was spacious, clean and very comfortable. The staff were friendly, the breakfast at the restaurant at the lodge was tasty and very convenient. Overall it was a great experience.
