"The room was super clean. Very small, not a size you would spend the day in. This is a respite stop rather than a destination. Only 4 rooms have a direct unobstructed view, 4 have a view over the parking lot and 2 have no view. It’s easy to miss coming south on Highway 1. There is no Wi-Fi nor cell reception on the property. If you need WiFi cross HWY 1 to the open pullout. They do have a grab and go breakfast, hard boiled eggs, muffins and juice also some seasonal fruit. Keurig machines in the wardrobe of each room. No refrigeration. Windows open to cool down the rooms and there is a heater if needed. This was 5 minutes from Limekiln State Park. It’s a drive to any restaurant. There was a taco truck Friday and Saturday at the pull out with the WiFi. The view is incredible and we had a full moon. The hostess is there in the mornings. Instructions with your access code are on the door when you arrive, there is a board next to the food/ice shed that has the room assignments."

10/10 Excellent
"My family and I booked both the main house and the cottage for a weekend getaway, and it was absolutely perfect. I was lucky enough to stay in the cottage, which provided the ideal balance of privacy and togetherness. It gave me my own peaceful space while still being able to enjoy time with my family throughout the weekend. The views were stunning, and the cottage itself was incredibly relaxing, clean, and beautifully maintained. It truly felt like the perfect escape. The only suggestion I would make is to download or screenshot all check-in information before arriving at the property. When we arrived, we didn't have cell service and realized we hadn't saved the Wi-Fi details. Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi information wasn't posted anywhere in the main house, so we had to leave the property to find service and access the check-in instructions again. Having that information readily available on-site would make the arrival process much smoother.Other than that, our stay was fantastic. We had an amazing family vacation and thoroughly enjoyed the property. I would absolutely return—whether for another family trip or a remote getaway with friends."
Gated Carmel Valley Retreat with 20 Acres, Pool & Hot Tub
8/10 Good
"If you are looking to disconnect, escape into nature, and just be with the ones you love, this is the absolute perfect place to book. The property is beautiful and surrounded by stunning trees. Between the pool, hot tub, bocce ball court, and cornhole, there was never a shortage of things to do outside. Check-in was smooth and the host was responsiveness when we had questions or issues. It being a pet-friendly property was also a plus. It was the best escape for our family, and we built so many wonderful memories here."
