Excellent food - even buffet was huge selection, very high quality, and varied themes every day. Never felt overly full even on a busy week, sunloungers could be found. Pool lovely. Youngest enjoyed the kids entertainment which he dipped in and out of. Lots of kayaks and boats to use. Cannot fault. And I...

"Simply a little piece of heaven. The setting is beautiful, the flora and fauna a joy to have the privilege to be a part of. The rooms are welcoming and the choice of restaurants and bars of a high standard. If you love golf this will provide an excellent challenge in a superb setting. What makes the place though is the team of staff, they could not be more welcoming, accomodating and friendly and the personalised concierge service such a bonus."

Beautiful resort on the best stretch of beach in Mauritius - incredible views and sunsets each evening. The staff are all warm and friendly and go to great lengths to make you feel welcome and special. The rooms are well decorated and the beds super comfy. The resort also makes their own amenities so lovely shampoo, shower gel etc! Great food and good value too. I also had a spa treatment which was brilliant, and we loved the little extras like the secret bar and screen on the beach - as well as...

The larger 4-bed villa that I booked was lovely; we also saw the inside of a smaller 3-bed unit, and it looks like the 3-bed ones have had a bit of a refurb that hasn’t reached the 4-bed villa yet, but it was honestly lovely. The staff were really friendly and helpful, especially our cleaner Marie, who was an absolute star. Would thoroughly recommend.

This is a lovely comfortable apartment with an open kitchen, dining, living room area. It has everything you need for self catering and a washing machine.
The pool is very private, has loungers to relax on and just shared with upstairs guests. Only a few minutes walk to a few nice restaurants. There isn't a beach in this area...not that we could find anyway but a nice area to visit for a few days.

Everything about our stay was perfect! I spent a long time before we booked looking at all the different areas/hotels/reviews and everything and even made a spreadsheet to compare the best prices for our favourites- I have to say we couldn't have gone for anything better! We did see a few of the other hotels and nothing compared. Tamassa is just stunning and had a really nice relaxed feel. The staff were so lovely and helpful and made us feel very at home- even remembering our drinks orders! The...

To begin with the journey from the airport to the hotel will take approx 45minutes and will cost 2000 MUR (about £40) in a taxi or 2100 MUR for airport transfer.

Also whilst it was raining elsewhere in Mauritius the Sofitel seemed to strangely enjoy sunshine consistently. Room was extremely comfortable and the service is exceptional. Note the sea here can be too shallow to swim in at low tide, and we stayed during a neep tide when the water was too low to use the pedaloes, canoes etc. Highly recommend the trip to swim with dolphins arranged by the hotel, note you need to be a strong swimmer though to jump off the boat on cue and swim rapidly to keep up with them - children under 12 probably couldn't manage it. The only thing which marred an otherwise fantastic...

Not a bad word to say about this place. Beautiful setting, right on the beach. Hotel and grounds are amazing and very well kept - garden areas with four poster beds are just heaven. Took a walk up past the Hilton - really glad we picked Sofitel. From what we could see, much nicer beach and garden areas - and cheaper too. Hotel staff are amazing, make you feel very welcome. On site restaurants are good, if pricey. But its only 400 rupees in a taxi into Flic & Flic where you can eat in some...
