The neighborhood is really neat and easy to navigate, with a lot of great little shops and restaurants. There is a nightlife around as well, but the bars and clubs are very good at keeping the noise contained so the neighborhood is respectably quiet. Everyone in Gion is friendly and helpful. The hotel is clean and modern, and the space of the rooms was really nice. I found the location of the hotel a little bit strange, not the niciest area of the town although it was close to the main point of interests. The reception was available just on part of the day and they didnt clean the room daily, it was charged if you wish. The key card for my room had the hotel address and a label of my room number on it. This is problematic because if I lost it, or if someone targeted a guest, they get access to a guest room.
