2/10 Terrible

Disliked: Cleanliness
had to leave this hotel after two nights, there was someone violently ill on our floor and the rooms were tiny with shared bathrooms on the floor - didnt feel safe staying in a germ ridden place, house keeping was very nice but the bathrooms were not cleaned throughout the day (the shower is closed twice a day for cleaning) but i think each floor bathroom was just cleaned once in the morning leaving all the lingering germs. the room also had a musty smell, even with the window open. i did not go into the public bath but my partner said they did and immediately had to get out and shower, as there was stuff floating in the water. unsure if that is at fault of the other guests or if the hotel is able to prevent this/clean better. good location, unfortunate how this stay turned out because i had stayed here before and loved it. i wonder if the over-tourism put too much work on the staff to keep it nice.

I had such a relaxing stay! I was so impressed by all the amenities and my room was so comfortable. The common room is very inviting and I loved how there was always tea available. Big plus is the onsen bath and clean and spacious shower room! Really enjoyed my stay and definitely will be back.

the hotel and amenities are very nice and its a great location. The staff is not that helpful and are quick to respond things like "we do not handle such matters" if you have any sort of issue. But if you are fine with not needing any help from the hotel staff, everything else is nice.

We had a great stay at this hotel in Kyoto. The room was comfortable and well equipped, with a sink and everything we needed. We didn’t mind not having a private toilet or shower, as the shared facilities were very clean and clearly well maintained. You can tell the hotel takes great care in keeping everything in excellent condition. I hope they continue offering this high level of service for a long time
