The property had been renovated in that time and clearly updated throughout. Something to consider when booking this hotel is that there is no elevator. However, we didn’t find that it affected our stay at all, since the accommodations were perfectly clean and quiet. Rooms are pretty spacious and the set breakfast is delicious! Keep in mind you'll need to let the front desk know the night before if you want breakfast the next day. Easy access to transportation and tons of shrines nearby. Restaurants are a little more on the expenside side in this part of Kyoto, but there are lots of convenience stores nearby and even a 7/11 on the corner.
