Staff helped us call a taxi a few times and always greeted us when we walked in. Didn’t have to worry about room keys, which was nice. Across the street from a temple, 10 minute walk from a station, lots of places to shop and eat on the way to the station if you take the main road. Great water pressure in the shower. You actually stay in a peaceful neighbourhood while you can easily access the center of Kyoto, including the beautiful Kamo River. The room is spacious and tidy. We enjoyed our stay because the designer put both Japanese style and morden style in the same room. What impressed us the most was the bath room. It is not like typical japanese unit bath, it is decorated by the tiles in black and grey tone which is very cool and stylish. I love the design. The water pressure is just nice even we stayed in the 5th floor. Anyway, I would love to stay at the same hotel again. BTW, there is a Japanese restaurant beside the hotel entrance, the chef cooks fabulous troditional Japanese meal.
