Staff is great and they have all the amenities promised. If booking a private room, book the tatami room and futons not the western bedroom, the mattress springs are deadly. Air conditioners are pretty dusty and have some mold, they could use a cleaning. They also turn off the AC in the middle of the might and even if it runs, it’s usually very light so I try to turn on the fan at the same time to avoid sweating. The staff were all amazing and extremely helpful and friendly in suggesting things to see and do as well as just socialising and helping with booking transport etc. The hostel is quite old and the dorms especially are very minimalistic and somewhat run down. There was some issue with the air conditioning one of the nights, but it was sorted out for the next night. The bathrooms and showers were clean and there was a nice common area. The kitchen had the needed amenities, and I really liked the fact that they let you use the shower and kitchen even after you check out.
